| black and so much better!!! | |||
| it is available in five colors, but i personally love my black one. the Creative Zen Vision:M has an incredible screen, a simple interface, excellent video battery life, an FM tuner and recorder, and a voice recorder. It features a customizable Shortcut button, and it supports a wide range of online music stores and subscription services, as well as video formats. It has excellent audio and video quality.

| The Creative Zen Vision:M has no iTunes-like video content--yet. Some will find the touch-pad controller frustrating. You must use an adapter for transfers and power. | |||
| The dazzling, DRM-friendly Creative Zen Vision:M gives the iPod a run for the money as the current high-capacity WMA champ. i really like my sex black mp3 and i recommend it to everyone. | |||

| out of this world | |||
| What should i say about this extraordinary and out of this world mp3 player?! It is so handy and the design is so futuristic. It is the perfect player to own irrespective of whether you are a first time user or if you have already used an mp3 player before. Although some people say this is not as elegant as an ipod i found it to be very appealing. | |||
| Tried to find one but couldnt! | |||
| It can fit in my back pocket in even the most snuggest of pants. I cant think of spending even a day without it. I have simply become addicted to it. The touch pad controller is so simple. The audio and video quality is simply outstanding. | |||

| I'm apparently outdated | |||
| What are the strengths of this unit? I have no idea... Creative Labs won't let me add this hardware to my ANCIENT Win2k machine (with latest service pack ).
Have I become so outdated so quickly? I go to Creative to see if Win2k drivers ARE available... yup, after a bit of searching, I find the 39Mb installer & download it. Surprise surprise, it doesn't recognise the Zen. I go back to Creative to see what the forum or tech 'support' has to offer & in true Creative style, nothing is accessible. No forum, no tech support, no email address to contact anyone. Just blank pages. It turns out (following the included help file) that I MUST have WMP version 10 or above. Jeeeeez!! I REALLY don't wanna install THAT nasty, but what the hell... it is for a friend. Guess what?? Not compatible with versions of Windows pre-Win XP sp1. Nice. |
|||
| Diabolical consumerism. I need to upgrade to XP or Vista to find out what the strengths or weaknesses of this device are.
Bear in mind that the PC I use runs EVERYTHING else. This is the first piece of hardware/software I have come across that it won't. I'm running everything from old DOS apps to high end CAD progs with a fast 64 bit Athlon CPU, a shed-load of RAM, a great graphics card etc etc. Everything else works & works very well thanks. |
|||
| I volunteered to load music onto the brand new Zen for a friend who loves music but has no PC. Just glad I didn't buy this for myself.
Well, sorry Scotty, we're too old -fashioned for Creative. I guess you'll just have to carry on using the gramophone.... or take it back to Argos & swap it for an iPod (now I KNOW they work... only hope Argos will waive their returns policy on mp3 players??) I certainly will NOT be recommending this product & neither will I personally be buying anything else with the Creative stamp on it. (their sound cards are similarly poor quality, as is their lamentable customer support, non-existent customer service, dreadful buggy software & evil schizophrenic drivers.) |

| Dodgy screens | |||
| Great software. Brilliant sound even with supplied headphones. Not being tied into iTunes is a big plus and it will happily play most formats. | |||
| The LCD screens are useless and unlikely to last more than 6 months. Creative support is worse than useless and will blame you for the screen 'imploding' and becoming unreadable. Go to http://elliottback.com/wp/archives/2006/08/11/broken-creative-visionm-lcd-screen/ to see the real underlying problem.
It's a shame as Creative have allowed a fantastic MP3 player to nosedive to the bottom of the pile because of an inferior screen and a total lack of support for customers who pay a good wedge for this item. |
|||
| Stay clear of all Creative MP3's until they sort out their screens, | |||

| Top dog. Nuff said. | |||
| Screen quality, software, speed and ease of song transfer. Memory size - I have 300 CDs and there's still plenty of room.
Playlist, menu and search structure, you name it, it's great! Also has a reset button so if it does ever crash (only once when my daughter used it) you can reset it quickly. Range of accessories available on ebay including mains chargers, in car chargers, covers, remote controls. Battery life is superb too. |
|||
| Supplied headphones are a little basic, but who cares when £20 or so can get you some decent in ear soft ones.
Having seen mine, my wife now wants to throw away her Philips MP3 player and get one of these for her birthday! |

| My first MP3 player was a Creative NOMAD Jukebox (years ago - even before the iPods came out). Since then, I've had a couple of iRiver models, an iPod, and the new Sony NW-A3000. | |||

| Should be so good, but isn't | |||
| - Plays Napster subscription files
- Is compatible with lots of different file formats, both in music and in video - Video is high quality, although I'm yet to use it for a serious purpose - Looks pretty neat, although it is obvious they are just copying Apple (and I hate Apple). Creative - ask your designers to be a bit more original. |
|||
| - It's very unstable. It crashes quite regularly, and occasionally freezes for a few seconds.
- You have to leave it on hold for the screen to turn off the full colour. If you're just walking along and want to randomly skip songs, this means you have to keep turning it on and off hold. I wonder how long the button will last. - Software is poor - takes ages to transfer files between the computer and the player. |
|||
| A nice enough player, and probably the best if you want to use Napster To Go. If you just want an MP3 player, you're probably best off getting an iRiver - easier to use, and far more reliable. | |||
