I thought it strange the temperature display showed "38" when first plugged in but didn't pursue it for quite a while. The owners manual describes the temperature display as showing the temp inside the fridge unless you're actually adjusting it. However, instead it only shows what you've SET it at but will NEVER change to show what's actually happening inside. Maytag blew it off by saying some models have a temp display while others do not. So - even though the owners manual for THIS model says it should be there - apparently in testing they couldn't get it to work or something and just decided to remove that feature. Too bad - 'cause that's one of the main reasons I bought it. The store did not have one working on the floor, so I looked through the manual to see what features it had. I guess now it's off to a letter writing campaign to see how to return this thing and get one that lives up to the owner's manual features. I guess Maytag feels you can advertise any features you want and tell the owner LATER what they actually GOT! If you're looking at this fridge, make sure you check out the manual and MAKE them actually PLUG it in at the store so you can see how it really works! |
