| Great idea, relatively simple to use. | |||
| Huge compatability problems with DVD's. Have tried both + and - RW, and 3 different makes. Has so far managed to trash around 10 discs. Whether it chooses to record a program or not seems to be pot luck. Pointless setting it up on the timer as I never knew whether I would come back to a recording or not. Struggled to erase some RW discs and ended up making coasters of them. Even my PC couldn't read or format them in the end. | |||
| Great idea - nice picture when it does record but not realiable enough for me. Will revisit again in 6- 12 months when hopefully the technology is better. In the meantime mine has gone back to Argos who refunded in full after 6 weeks. Great service! | |||

| Functionality, ease of use and Value for money | |||
| Lack of three hour recording ability and Region 2 only.

| This machine seems to have it all, can use the dvd+ and dvd - formats and also records onto cd-rw and cdr | |||
| None found yet, bit fiddly to set up tuner, but the kids did it in 5 mins | |||

| This dvd recorder is the best we have bought yet.
Bought from Argos in Newcastle for £119.99. Went back next day to buy another and price had gone up to £149.99, but did have a £10 voucher from previous purchase. They are now out of stock nationwide. Shows how popular this DVD Recorder is. |

| The LiteOn has exelled itself considering the price we paid for it.
After battleing with a Philips for over a year, the "guider" (hot key to finalise/erase etc) simplified disc operation. The LiteOn also has a simple on-screen display for camcorder recording, allowing control of the cameras functions via the front "firewire" port. The ability to use either DVD+ or DVD- discs is a real bonus too. The scart is "feedthrough" so the same AV channel (on TV) can be used for both DVD and another machine. Recording & playback quality are better than some. Even on 6hr mode the playback is good enough not to spoil a weeks worth of soaps. |

| Channel setup took some getting around as the tuner numbered the channels irrespective of the UHF channel that it found the stations on. Also, the fine tune wasn't broad enough to cover an old VHS machine who's RF output was between channels.
One last niggle was the remote being a bit sluggish. |

| All in all, the liteOn has proved a good little number. After initial setting up, it proved very easy to use and it's ability to read and record on anything is a real bonus. It even has the ability to record your own music tracks onto CD. | |||

| Easy on-screen menu system make this DVD recorder easy to set up and use.
Almost every type of disc is supported. Appears robust and well put together. Under £200, buy one! |

| 1 hour and 2 hour settings give excellent results. 4 hour setting similar quality to VHS. 6 hour setting i would only use if I was stuck for disc space. | |||
