| good sony! | |||
| The things I really liked were the true 16:9 facility and shooting using the 16:9 flip-out panel or viewfinder. Positioning the LCD panel on the top of the carry arm seems, well just natural. I cant quite put my finger on why I like it there, it just seems to fit especially when operating the camera from the hip. Having proper turning dials to set audio levels, plus proper XLR connectors for feeding external mics or line feeds are both key features that give the Z1E the edge. The Audio Limiter and Audio Noise Reduction are also going to appeal to those wanting to get the most out of HDV.

| The only criticism would be that, like all cameras of this design, they are incredibly uncomfortable to operate. Holding the camera in front of you for more than a few minutes will start the muscles aching. | |||
| The white balance is perhaps one of the best features on the camera, now giving the choice of two manually configurable and one preset. With the flip of a switch, the manual zoom ring can be activated. Upon setting the marking one desires, the switch can be flipped allowing of a crash zoom. i think this camera is brilliant!!! | |||

| Boasting an incredibly small size, and providing HDV with the 1080i standard, the HVR-A1E offers a host of advanced features for professional use. Using technology such as CMOS means the HVR-A1E is an ultra-compact camcorder capable of providing HDV in full 1080 line resolution. | |||

| Designed for professional use. it has a comprehensive support service. Just like the rest of the HDV and DVCAM range, the HVR-A1E benefits from two years Silver Support warranty as standard providing a unique after-sales care programme offering enhanced support and service.

| Decent Cam | |||
| The 3.5 inch LCD screen is really good. The 12x optical zoom enhances the images very well. The stereo sound delivers a better overall video quality. | |||
| It is somewhat bulky. | |||
| This is definitely not one of Sony's better cams. It has good and bad points, but the bad points are more prominent as other Sony cams tend to fare much better than this one in many respects. The overall image quality is good. Even the audio is good. The 12x optical zoom is definitely a plus point. Its most obvious drawback is its size - quite bulky!! I bought this cam from a friend just for regular novice purposes!! It serves this cause well enough. | |||

| Good!! | |||
| It has a great optical zoom! It also has a nice big LCD display. Its video quality is pretty good also. | |||
| I havent used it long enough to notice any flaws with its functioning. However, i do this it is quite big. | |||
| This cam was recommended to me by a friend. It works well. Doesnt really give any trouble. Only problem is that it is quite big and bulky. Its optical zoom and large LCD screen add to its charm! | |||
