Did you break your old PX100? AKG has got the perfect replacement K24P |
| What are the strengths? |
Recently i broke my lovely PX100 by stepping on the cable.Since then i wanted to buy a pair of headphones to replace them, I spent hours and days comparing PX100's specifications with other headphones on the market which are in the similar price range as PX100's and size.I could have easily bought another pair of PX100 but i just wanted to try something different and I wasn't wrong by going for a AKG K24P.
As I feel its the nearest perfect replacement for the PX100 and it has the great bass and the sound quality as the PX100.But its not as comfortable as the PX100 but you'll get used to those 2 little plastic blocks which keeps the headphones firmly on your head, after few days.On the positive side it gives you the same pleasure as the PX100 and you might have to adjust the sound levels for first time you use them as the K24P gives a bit more stereo and higher sound level compared to the PX100.And then K24P even looks similar to PX100.
And when it comes to the price the K24P is nearly a third less to PX100.I bought them for only ?19.99 at micro anvika in tottenham court road.

| What are the weaknesses? |
On the negative side, its not as comfortable as the PX100 and you'll find it a bit difficult to deal with its size adjusting mechanism for couple of days.And as most of the headphones out there, K24P is no exception and starts to feel uncomfortable and stinging your ears after wearing it more than a hour a so.And again as same as the PX100, K24P filters outside noise in.So it's not the ideal companion to wear on when travelling on Underground.(But I can't afford Sound isolation headphones.So I still wear them when travelling on Underground.Poor ears!).
