After reading the poor reviews I was a bit skeptical about shopping here. I did however know what to look for. After placing my order online I received a request to verify my order via phone. They tried to sell me more stuff and I was ready for them! They recommended I get a DVI to HDMI cable. I said NO and they said ok. After saying no I kinda wanted to know what it was. Long story short, I got it! I needed it for playing blu-rays DVDs. I would have overlooked it and glad they brought it to my attention. I did find this to be a good experience in online shopping. Receive the TV after 10 days and the cable arrived 3 or 4 days before that.

They called me the next day to say they had a newer model tv at "a great price". I declined that offer and said I wanted what I ordered. They said okay but the tv never arrived. They didn't charge my credit card, so they're not total crooks. They just generate a lot of sales traffic by false advertising and then trying to switch people to easily available products at average prices. |

On May 6 2008 I bought a new Samsung HDTV for $1618 from PriceMad. What they shipped was not new, and it had been re-packed so poorly, using hand-chopped-up pieces of Styrofoam as packing material, that the TV frame was scratched from rocking around in the box. The HDTV was dead on arrival.
I was outraged. I took pictures, sent them to PriceMad in an email, and called them. The shipping manager, who I was referred to with my complaint, tried to tell me that it was probably FEDEX that re-packed the HDTV after it left PriceMad’s store. This sounds to me like management is complicit in bait and switch scamming. If our shipping manager switched and packed a product like that in my former company, and used FEDEX as an excuse, he would have been fired on the spot.
I was asked by PriceMad to call in a Samsung service person to repair the HDTV. After considering my options I did have the HDTV repaired. The technician looked at the TV and asked me if I thought this was a used TV. I did, and he must have also. I filed a dispute with my credit card company to try to recover the difference in price between a new and a used TV. Sending them this one back and waiting an undetermined amount of time for a replacement did not seem to be an option given their deceitful practices to date – they had my money and I wouldn’t have anything if I sent the TV back.
From my research on Ebay and Craig’s List I found a used HDTV exactly like the one I bought for $750 less than what I paid. I settled for $350 refund from PriceMad. What a screw job.
Below are details I sent to PriceMad by email.
Details:
• The packaging included an exterior cardboard box with 4 Styrofoam edge pieces, 2 on top & 2 on bottom (Photo 1). The interior box was a Samsung box with art work (Photo 6). The TV was wrapped in a plastic sheet and was packed with 4 Styrofoam corner pieces.
• The exterior package arrived damaged both front and back (Photos 3 & 4). The damage went through more than one layer of the packaging, but the damage did not appear to go through to the TV.
• The interior Samsung box was not damaged (photo 5 & 6) but the TV inside was obviously not factory packed.
o 4 Styrofoam corner pieces on the TV where obviously hacked-up non-standard pieces, certainly not from the factory. (photo 7)
o An extra piece of Styrofoam (photo 7, bottom piece) was also obviously non-standard and was wedged between the TV screen and the side of the box. This seemed to be an attempt to keep the TV from moving around in the box as the 4 corner Styrofoam pieces where not a good tight fit.
o I observed that the TV rocked back and forth within the interior box as I moved it away from a wall in preparation to open the box. The result of this rocking during the cross-country delivery appears to have caused scratching on the corners of the TV plastic frame (bezel), on the side that faces the viewer. It looks like someone used a brillo-pad on the corners. (photo 8, hard to capture in a photo but is obvious with your eyes)
o The Accessory Envelope was not factory packed and sealed. It had been opened and then re-closed using a piece of tape. (photo 9)
o Inside the accessory envelope was an extra unknown part not associated with this TV (L530-46” #1-1, BN63-04374X, A450). (photo 10)

I ordered my TV through the website, did the "call-back" where they tried to convince me to buy a newer model even though the one I ordered said it ships in 2 to 3 days. I refused to get a different model and was told it would be here in 2 weeks. After two and a half weeks I called and was told by Brian the schmuck that it's a hard model to find, and he would have it to me next week. Two weeks later (today) I called to cancel. He tried one last time to sell me a different TV, at EIGHTY BUCKS MORE than the website advertises. What a *%#*@ idiot. I cancelled the order, he said he would send me a cancellation email...still haven't gotten it. They will not return phone calls, or emails, and they put you on hold for up to 20 minutes EVERY TIME you call. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE LOSERS! |

"I have another 65 inch LCD that's just beautiful for $700 less...." Obviously this was both annoying and alarming. Two weeks later, I called to ask when I can expect to receive. Customer service did not answer. So I called back to sales and asked to be transferred to customer service. Again, no answer. And when I say no answer, I mean the phone literally rang for five straight minutes. I called back a third time (into sales) and asked about my order number. I then heard in a very impolite manner that I should never have expected it in two weeks-- wait another two weeks.
A short while later I received an email from Pricemad asking me to contact them. O joy, I thought. I then heard again that I could be waiting a while. I asked why I was sold something that did not exist, to which he replied, "well, we didn't charge your card, did we?" I cancelled the order -- and to their credit, I was not given a hard time about cancelling. |

I called and was informed the model I ordered was unavailable but was talked into a newer model with better specs for around $100 more. The website said there was free freight. It did not mention 3% would be added for required insurance coverage. I received an email saying my TV would be delivered 9 days later. It wasn't! Upon investigation I learned that supposedly my TV was delivered to a customer in Florida who upon opening it discovered it was not the model he ordered. The TV was in a box that had been previously opened and was not well packed. He repacked it and it was picked up four days later. Two days later the TV was delivered to me. It was not the TV I ordered but one that was $600 less expensive. It was also very dusty and scuffed up. I called customer service at Pricemad but discovered that although their sales department has extended phone hours their customer service department does not. It's open 10:30-5:00 M-F. Tomorrow I will try to resolve this nightmare--if I get through to customer service. |

So i agree, found out couple hours later that the replacement model is cheaper and nothing special except higher contrast. So i called up to cancel my order, they didn't allow me to cancel, the man said "why you want to cancel the order, we will get charge back", and he hung up on me. I sent them to emails to cancel my order and without any respond back, but finally i got my refund. I've learned my lesson. For those like low prices, make sure you look at it before buying. I won't buy from this stupid store again. |

I ordered a Sharp 52" LCD TV from them, and I got an e-mail instructing me to call an (800) number to confirm the order. Of course, they tried to upsell me on accessories, shipping, warranty etc. I politely declined and the rep warned me that it would take 21-28 days to receive the TV. It is now 28 days and still no TV. They cannot provide a tracking number or verify that they even shipped it. I called customer service 3 times and got conflicting information each time including different ship dates and methods of shipping! These people are despicable liars, and should be put out of business. I cancelled my order. |

We ordered a 50 inch plasma through priceline. We immediately got the "call to confirm your order" bait and switch to order the more expensive model because they were out of that model. We figured it was still 200 dollars less than the stores so we did. Here we are in the middle of April with NO TV, NO SHIPMENT DATE, NO TRACKING. Every time I called for shipping confirmation I got the run around, "they're so busy, they don't track ground delivery, yadda yadda". Well today I am on hold with pricemad RIGHT NOW, I have been transfered at least 10 times to cancel this order and I've been waiting to speak about it for 20 minutes!! What they don't know, is that I have disputed the charge anyway with mastercard while on hold. OHHHH!!! just got to talk to "BRIAN" the "manager". He hung up on me when I told him I disputed the charge. They said they'd give me a full refund, then hung up. I hope so.

They promise things that are not true, they do not return phone calls, they do not return e-mails, you are left on hold for up to an hour with no check-in or hold music, and they are all very good at transfering you to someone else to deal with. I tried to order a TV that they didn't have in stock. The salesman tried to get me to buy something else because he was more concerned about making a sale at that moment. I was then told it would take aout a week to ship to their warehouse and another week to ship to me. Well, after two weeks there was nothing. I would call and they would say it should be there in a few days, or it has already left their warehouse. Finally, after about a month of getting one dishonest answer after another, I finally cancelled the order. Customer service and honesty is something that you can't put too much of a price on. I would NEVER recommend anyone ever buying something from these guys. If they would have just said it would take 2 months to get one, or that they couldn' get one at all, I would have had more respect for them since they were honest. But, that never happened. Avoid Pricemad at all costs!!! |

The gentleman I dealt with was very courteous and professional, and stated everything was in order. Later that same day I received an e-mail informing me that I had to call again to confirm the order. On the second call I got some character who tried to upsell me to another TV, and when I declined he stated that the price shown for the TV I wanted was BEFORE "the rebate". I said "What rebate?" "The one on the site" There is no rebate listed there" "Yes there is." "No, I print out every page and I guarantee that there is no rebate mentioned" "Oh..."
At this point, any warm fuzzy I might have had about this transaction evaporated, so I just cancelled the order and shopped elsewhere. Bottom line: Beware the follow-up call. It's simply a tactic to coerce more money out of you. |

This is when the bait-and-switch is done. They will try to sell you another item and perfacing it's higher quality and a better price. Of course this isn't true. The switch item will be of lesser quality and be found for a much cheaper price elsewhere (a quick search on the internet will confirm this). It is my opinion that what they do could be considered wired fraud which carries a 20 year sentence for each count as codified in is codified at 18 U.S.C. § 1343. Beware when dealing with Jeff and Steve. They are great at misdirection and misinformation. Please for your own interest do not buy from this group. |

My shipping was included (NYC to LA,CA)and the extended warranty was the lowest price. Smart,in the know sales people. My sales person suggested a newer model to the one I requested. I presumed this was a bait and switch tactic but he was so on with the specs and the applications that I took the bait. He said I would have to wait for PriceMad to get them in the warehouse - 2 weeks, and then they will ship to my house in California.
I went on the Samsung site - and the model he sold me was not even listed. I freaked and called Samsung Customer relations about to blow the whistle. Turns out the kid was right - and that the TV had not even been released yet but would be in two weeks just like the salesperson said. Furthermore, it was based on the technology Samsung currently reserved for their $5000 sets. for the extra $50 buck and two weeks of waiting I got a far better machine.
more NYC style issues. NO tracking. Thye use a private shipper to cross the country and you simply cannot track the package. Customer service there is way limited - a cost they keep down to lower profit margins - and lower the customer's price.
