I wanted a Canon XTi, but have no use for the standard 18-55 lens. I wanted a 28-200. I considered buying the body and lens from separate stores. I had found the two lowest prices for the two items at different stores, but I thought I'd give a few stopres calls to see if anyone had inventory that hadn't made it online yet.
Adorama ended up having the exact lens I was looking for, used in excellent condition. I haven't used it yet, but it actually looks to be "like new". So I ordered the body, lens, a skylight filter, memory card, and back up battery.
The salesman, Fred Wasser <fred@adorama.com> politely made several suggestions for me to add to my order, but once I said that I was not interested in an item, he did not mention it again. He did "gently" try to sell me on a couple of items that I had to think about before decing to decline, but I did not feel pressured in any way at all.
I should also mention that Fred did not say anything that was not true about any of the items that he sold, or offered to me. I've read many reviews where that happened.
When the package arrived, all items where in the expected condition, properly packaged, and exactly as advertised.
The only "issue" I can mention is that I ordered on Sunday for my wife's birthday. I paid $18 for 3 day shipping and expeted delivery on Wednesday afternoon/evening. The package didn't arrive until Thursday evening.
The next time I buy, I'll get my best price, then I'll email Fred to see if he can beat it.

For the price i payed it was a great deal, i would have payed 2 times that in Canada. This is why i shop on line there many great deals out there. Also purchasing from Adorama you know you will get great service, they have been in service for many years. No doubt i will as before return to make another purchase. It was fine as long as there was no problems - Adorama was glad to take my money. But my last order had several missing items. I reported this to Adorama late (I travel overseas for long periods). Adorama used the delay in my call as the reason they would not ever consider investigating my claim. They kept telling me they couldn't investigate with DHL whether the box was stolen when I kept telling them that the box had been delivered but several small, inexpensive items were missing. Somehow the expensive camera made it so the Adorama story was all obfuscation and b.b. It really felt like they had their reason to not consider the claim, and that was good enough for them.
I buy at B&H. I have found they have similar prices and are much easier to work with. And they don't rip you off like Adorama. Best to take your hard-earned funds to B&H for their professional and courteous customer support, you won't get that from Adorama. |

| Rating |  4 / 5 | | Comment | I ordered a used lens a CF card from the site. The next day I was told the lens was damaged and would not be shipped - the card would be though. As it was an international sale I wanted to cancel the order, as the postage was almost as much as the CF card!
After contacting the Adorama customer service email, I received a apologetic phone call and an offer to refund the postage. Very fair. While I'm disappointed I missed out on the lens, I'm happy with the service. |

SKU# "IOMORPT015" had the same "Olympus" cardboard label (PSOLG-1) as SKU# "IOMSG", the Olympus Grease for Silicone O Ring.
I sure hope this is the correct O-Ring for my Olympus PT-015 housing.

Scott, Adorama Customer Service, was quick to contact me on this matter. After answering a few of Scott's questions and a little research on the Adorama end, it was determined that Olympus mis-packaged the o-rings and Adorama caught it before shipping out the item. They added their own barcode label on the back of the Olympus label.
It was still confusing....maybe mark through the Olympus label or replace completely.
Bottom line, Adorama was quick to respond and resolved the problem in an efficent and friendly manner. |

| Rating |  1 / 5 | | Comment | Ordered an in stock printer on May 14 and now it is May 29 and I have not heard anything beyond the initial order confirmation. Telephone lines are busy ("please call back in a couple of hours") and email to the Service dept has gone unanswered.
I've read Adorama's response to negative reviews here. They say there is a computer generated reply to all emails and phone contact by a service rep within 24 hours. So far that is not been true in my case.
I see that Adorama is highly rated here. For me they have failed the minimum criteria I have for online business: 1)Confirm the order & give an approximate ship date, 2)notify when the credit card has been charged and the item shipped 3)give a tracking number.

I decideded on canceling a order of an 8GB compact flash card (decided getting 2 4GB cards was a better idea just in case one ever went bad), sent an email to cancel the order, received an email confirmation from the customer support that it would be canceled.
All in all, definitely a trustworthy website I would do business with again. |

I order late with the 3-5 day shipment and I got a call Monday that they had everything I wanted and I was getting upgraded to 2nd day shipping. The thing was that Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday didn't count because it was memorial day, so everything process yesterday (Tuesday) and I was expecting my package a week after that, but since I got a free upgrade to second day it will be here tomorrow (Thursday). They respond to every email really fast, 2 people I spoked too are very friendly specially the last one. They have the lowest prices and best shipping. I got my USP tracking number and I'm really happy with them. Thanks Adorama! |

Their prices are very competitive. Even when others are lower, you may still get the best value at Adorama because of their superior way of doing business and their honesty. They are my preferred site for photographic needs. I recommend them without any reservations. |

| Rating |  1 / 5 | | Comment | Well, after several months of research I decided to buy my new Canon Lens from Adorama. knowing that I have a limit on my only transactions with my bank (for security reasons) I called my bank before I made my order to make sure that all my ducks were in a row.
Making the online order (Monday 5-12-08) was painless and easy.
Tuesday 5-13 afternoon I sent a letter to Customer service asking about when my order would ship, because it was listed as pending, and recieved a response quite quickly (a couple hours) saying it would ship that evening, Great! I thought. Wed morning 5-14 my package was finally shipped. I also asked a question about the rebate that is starting on the 18th and was told they could not do anything about it until the rebate actually starts (not a big deal I will handle that on monday). so since I recieved the invoice Wed morning I have recieved NO further Communication regarding my order. I watched UPS's movements Very closely to see when my order will arrive, then on Thurday (5-15) morning, I noticed an Exception on UPS's website "THE SHIPPER HAS REQUESTED A DELIVERY INTERCEPT FOR THIS PACKAGE / RETURN TO SENDER PENDING" this confused me, so I eagerly awaited a phone call and or email explaining how they had messed up my order... it the communication NEVER CAME!
So now it is Friday, 5-16, and I have sent an email to customer service requesting Information. since they obviously don't care about customers that spend under $2K. They definitely need to learn how to communicate with their customers.
Oh yeah, and the lens made it all the way to my town before it was turned around. they had 24 hours to contact me... but no they really don't care to sell something to you. OR they won't tell you when they mess up your order!
I will definitely go elsewhere for my next purchase. (and if you cancel my order over this comment I will flame you FOREVER!)

WOW! I tell you all! this is what you do when you need results from this store LOL. I got a response from them, Leah, was very helpful called up the UPS place and had them hold my order, and I am going to make a trip out to pick it up this evening after work. So! yes they have poor Customer service response, however they DO react when you post something on here.
and one more thing! make sure to make it ABSOLUTELY clear that you don't want them to cancel your order, I asked a simple question about the rebate issue... and without contacting me about it cancelled my order( it may have been an accident). |

I had to wait a week for the Passover holiday closing, which I truly don't mind and respect, though I am not Jewish. When open again, they accepted the return quickly, paid for shipping, and sent another camera by return UPS. This camera works great. I thought I would get the run-a-round from a New York online seller, but was very surprized and happy with the outcome of the transaction. |

I saw a tripod in adorama with a good price and placed an order(A12100986481064255) with them on 6th of May.
They ship from New Jersey and I live in Pennsylvania which is 3 hours max by road. They never shipped my item
till yesterday that is 05/14/2008. The reason they said to me after numerous phone calls and 30 mts of music
hearing every time is the item is in store and has to be moved to warehouse before it can be shipped. This
did not happen till friday. Finally I had to call and wait to get a CSR online and change the order to a higher
priced tripod which was in stock in their warehouse. Again after repeated reminders and requests to ship my
item out ASAP the changed item was shipped on tuesday which reached me on Wednesday 8 days after i placed the order.
Looks like a small wait but stop calling yourself fast shippers, excellent Customer service etc., etc.,
The item arrived as ordered but I expected it even faster or a call from them to let me know that the original
item i ordered is in delay to be shipped. Yes i did choose standard shipping. But why would I choose 1 day shipping
and pay 25$ more when I live only 3 hours away.
This order issue might be peanuts for the volume of business they are making. But big reputed companies value their
each and every customer.

| Rating |  3 / 5 | | Comment | Adorama gets 5 ***** for quick shipping and good emails. 3 stars for product description only because manufactures seal was broken and the insruction card that usually comes with SAN DISK PRODUCT WAS MISSING. 1* for tech/customer support and that's because they answered the phone. called and asked what was included in the box and was told sd card warranty card and rescue disk and key chain when I asked about a reader he said does not come with it when I said I must of misread the ad he said sarcasticly yeah you must of misread the ad and hung up.after releasing the latch 3 minutes of playin with the duccti i found if you push the black center of the lower half (this is the usb connection)from the back the hinges will engage. Over all rating 3.5 stars
I would buy simple things from this store again because of there great pricing but anything complicated forget it until they overhaul their tech/customer support umit
