CommentI have purchased I would say , about 75% of my camera gear from Adorama. All things considered I am
very satisfied, although there have been 2 purchases that were slow to get out and shipped,
however in both cases it was arround a major holiday. Their prices are fair.

CommentI ordered a flash on May 6th before the shipping deadline for that day (1pm ET) and called to verify that it had been received. I was told that it would be shipping that day. Later in the week I get my shipping confirmation only to find out it was shipped on the 9th and wouldn't be here until the 15th, 7 business days after i placed the order!!! So much for the shipping upgrade of 3-5 business days. I buy almost exclusively online from vendors such as amazon, beachcamera, buydig and such and have had nothing but good experiences. I was suprised to find that my first one came from adorama =(


Update: I did pay for the upgraded shipping ($2.95) and it showed up on my invoice emailed to me, however, I wasn't billed the upgrade and it is not on the final upgrade. I was impressed that Adorama honored a price adjustment requst after they dropped the price a week later. In the end the shipping experience was negative but I appreciated the price adjustment. I do find it funny that I have not had a response to either of 2 emails sent to the company but I received a response here instantly.

Update 2: The flash finally arrived and they made the price adjustment. I do find it odd that Adorama only addressed this complaint through this venue and both of my emails to their customer support are still unanswered.

CommentThis was my first purchase from Adorama, and it won't be my last. I found the lens that I wanted on the website, but had question about it, so I called the store. Fred Wasser answered; he was very helpful, as well as very prompt with emailing me with a receipt. I would suggest shopping at Adorama to anyone!

CommentFirst, I have to say that I didn't have a single problem with Adorama except how to pronounce the name. I had originally ordered what I thought was the lowest price through Amazon.com. Problem was, though the other seller said they had it in stock, they balked after the order was placed and wanted to backorder it. Well, that 'other' company doesn't get my business anymore. I should have checked this site first. I agree whole-heartedly with others' opinions on this company.

What more can I say, though. I ordered directly from the web site and ended up saving on shipping over what Amazon was planning on charging. Got a high-dollar Canon EF/S 10-22mm lens and case. I was very happy with the shipping time and would definitely recommend this company in the future. I will be shopping here more often. Thanks again.

CommentI made 3 purchases with Adorama over the course of a week (4/16, 4/17 & 4/19). With the last purchase Adorama did a great job of informing me that I was making a purchase the day before a holiday week and that my order would not be processed until 4/28, no big deal. Neither of the previous purchases had that warning and yet they were both effected by it.

I received shipping confirmations for orders #2&3 on the 28th but still had not received any information regarding purchase #1 so I emailed customer service. I RECEIVED purchases #3 before I even heard from customer service regarding purchase #1 and the reply to my email was, "your order is in transit and will be delivered shortly. Thanks for your patience." I received purchase #2 yesterday and have still not received shipping information/confirmation regarding purchase #1 although if I look at the website I can NOW see that one of the items is on backorder and will be shipped separately.

Overall, 2 out of 3 isn't horrible. It just would have been nice to hear from customer service regarding the backorder/delay in shipping situation at all and not have to go fishing for myself and I have still have yet to receive the shipping info on that order.

I am happy with the items I purchased and even made another purchase yesterday but when it came time to order the body of my D200 I went elsewhere.

CommentI had a great experience with this purchase. Mr Meyer (X2258) was knowlegable and helpful. I took longer than I should on a Canon Camera decision but he was helpful and gave me the counsel I needed to make the right decision for me. I will buy from him and Adorama again.

CommentI have been buying from Adorama.com for the past 3 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. Their pricing is reasonable, their Customer Service is topnotch, They supply you with constant updates via email on the status of your order from A-Z, and keep a record of your transactions so come tax time you can just go to their website, login, and print those receipts out! I highly recommend them.

CommentI consider Adorama a Reliable store with excellent customer service. I have bought from them several things without any problem. Although their prices might not be necessarily the cheapest ones (sometimes they are), when I assess the whole package (value, reliability, price and customer service) I think it is worth buying from Adorama.

CommentI wish to thank you and your very good sales representative, Fred Wasser ext.2259, for excellent advice, prompt service and an exactly on time delivery (within 15 minutes of projected time of 10:30AM today) on an order that was placed at the last minute just before the Passover Holiday. We needed critical equipment for a wedding tomorrow and all other suppliers were either out of the order or already closed. You were not and Fred helped us. Thank you. We "will be back"!

Comment I checked each online store with the best prices with the ratings and reviews in this site. Boy, the nightmares some of you have had shopping online! What a help this site is!!
Adorama came out very highly ranked so I called them to place an order for a memory card and a battery and told them I'd also buy a camera if they lowered their advertised price to meet the competition. They asked me to hold just a moment, came back a minute later and said no problem!
They asked me if there was anything else, I said no, and the order arrived in less than five business days as promised.
Great prices, no hassle service, not much wait time on the phone and prompt delivery. How can you beat that?
I see why they're highly rated, will recommend them to others and use them again myself.

CommentAvoid this company!!! I ordered a Canon 40d with 28- 135mm lens on the 8th April and paid extra for a faster 3 day delivery service.
On the 10th I got a call asking me to verify the order which I did explaining that I needed the kit by Friday the 11th as I was leaving on a trip on Monday 14th and I was told by their representative that he could not get it to me by Friday but assured me it would be here on Monday 14th. No kit arrived so i checked the tracking number which showed delivery would not be made till Tuesday 15th. I called and was told they had made a mistake with the shipping so I cancelled the order and requested a refund. NO REFUND HAS BEEN MADE and I have now received an email in which thay say they will not Refund untill they have the kit back from UPS. A TOTAL SCAM AVOID BUYING FROM ADORAMA. If you have AAA membership and download a coupon the internet price is actually cheaper from Circuit City.

CommentI love adorama I've done 3 transactions with them and have been very pleased.No calls to "confirm" my cc.You just pay them and get your product,only problem I just got a 20 dollar fee charged to my card,I'm guessing it was because I cancelled my card in the middle of getting my order from adorama (had to cancel because ABES OF MAINE threatened to charge money from it unlawfully)I dont get why the charge was made I would think it would be the banks problem and not yours,either way I love working with you guys beside that little blip,and I'm sure I'll continue to do business with you!

CommentAdorma is a great place to order from. They have a huge selection of items to pick from. Since I am a Historian it is very important that pictures be placed in archival safe photo pages & this is the only company I have found that I trust with mt orders. I have ordered from them a couple of times already. I have been using these archival safe photo pages for over 5 yrs & my photos are just fine. I love Adorma & would be lost without them

CommentOrdered my new wide angle lens on Sunday, received it in the mail on Wednesday!!!! Amazing...Had a problem with my Paypal transaction and contacted Adorama by email on Sunday...They responded immediately...the problem was resolved and the follow-up communication was great. Can't say enough about the courtesy and efficiency of this company. Thank you.

Commentthe item was advertised on sale & with a rebate, I was notified, the next day that the item was not available/on back order. It is now too late in the month to assure delivery in time to fullfill the rebate requirements, so the order has been cancelled.

CommentI have been saving up for a long time to upgrade my photo gear to a dSLR. When it came time to purchase I did a lot of research on products and finally where to purchase. I was originally going to go with B&H Photo, however Adorama had equally high reviews and offered free shipping on a few items I wanted to purchase, so I took the risk. I just wish it didn’t turn out the way it did, but Adorama still stood by their commitment.

I purchased a Canon 40D, 24-70mm f/2.8L lens, B&W Polarizer, and a Lowepro Fastpack 350 backpack. Everything shipped quickly and arrived within days. Amazing speed for UPS Ground. The polarizer was back ordered and arrived a week or two later.

Everything was going great until I contacted Customer Service via email. The Canon 24-70mm lens exhibited a grinding sensation in the wide-angle range. When the lens was held vertical, sideways, or upside down it was fine. However, when on the camera in the horizontal position the grinding was noticeable and for a L-series sense, unacceptable for the money.

I contacted Customer Service via their Contact Us form requesting information about an exchange. I didn’t hear back from anyone within 5 business days, though my inbox was flooded with Adorama sales emails and other newsletters. I contacted Adorama again via an email address to Customer Service, which was listed on their e-newsletter. I again waited 5 business day and received no response.

This time I called and got a busy signal. I called again later and got through to a Customer Service rep who stated I as past the 15-day return/exchange time frame. I mentioned the above scenario and to Adorama’s credit allowed me to send it in for an exchange.

I shipped via UPS Ground and insured. I verified it was received from the UPS tracking number, and days later noticed that my account had been credited the purchase amount. But no indication that an exchanged unit had shipped out.

I called Adorama again and they seemed surprised that this was an exchange. When I originally ordered the lens it was on sale. They were not going to offer me the same lens at the same price. Again, to Adorama’s credit, they allowed me to purchase the lens at the original sale price, and they waved the shipping costs to ship it back to me. Again, UPS Ground got the package to my house in the Midwest within days.

In the end, Adorama fulfilled all their obligations and I received everything I ordered in working order. What’s unfortunate is that they do not respond via email, though it’s a form of communication they offer. I still have yet to receive a response via email. So if you need to talk to Adorama, do it the old fashion way and pick up the phone.

CommentThis was a huge waste of time and poor communication :( They are selling products that are not in stock, and cannot be back-ordered quickly. I waited for six weeks, sent them multiple follow-up emails, some of which they never answered. At the end, I was happy to get my money back. Also, their emails are pretty ridiculous the way they don't accept the responsibility. Here is a quote:

> Unfortunately, the manufacturer let us down, and now we let you down.

I'll never shop here again.

CommentDuring a period of peak demand, I needed to trade my Nikon D200 for the new D300. I was given a quote for my camera that I felt was fair and an estimated delivery of "about two weeks." That met my schedule for a photographic vacation in Florida. Adorama was not able to get my new camera from their supplier in time and instead sent me a new "departmental loaner" to use until my camera was available. All at no extra cost!

CommentFalse rebate offer advertisement. Order was submitted on last day of rebate offer on March 28, 2008 but Adorama didn't process the order until 2 days later when rebate offer has expired. When emailed to Adorama to fix this purchase date, no response. When this review was posted, Adorama claim my email and phone number is invalid instead of reponding to my request to put the correct purchase date on my invoice so I can get their rebate as advertised.

How can this be when I used PayPal to pay for my purchase? Anyone with PayPal knows the email address used with PayPal has been valided. Adorama made a bad public response at the expense of a $10 rebate. What does everyone think?
