| Rating |   5 / 5 | | Comment | What an experience!! No hassle, no pressure, suggested options but not forced to buy. I've done serious research on who I planned to buy my 40D from. I always looked at the customer reviews on a company. Be careful, some bad companies create positive reviews on different websites. Best thing I did was to google the company names and read more than 1 web sites reviews. If there was a hint of rip-off I eliminated them.
So this brought me to Adorama and Fred Wasser (Ext. 2259). Most of the reviews pointed to contacting this man and they were right. A pleasure to do business with him personally and Adorama. Thank you!

I ordered a Canon flash unit online on the 31st around noon. around 3:45Pm i got an email from the merchant saying my card was blocked. I called the Credit Card company to clear the merchant from the fraud alert and sent and email back to Adorama customer service around 4:47PM. I got a conformation email that evening around 6:45Pm saying my order is being shipped with a shipment tracking number.
I paid for three day delivery, i got the product in two day. |

Even when I ordered next time through Amazon (fulfilled by Adorama) I had the same experience, item shipped same day. I ordered camera flashes, filters and tripod. Package lacked good padding but arrived in good shape. UPS delayed the order a bit but that's not Adorama's fault. Overall I am happy and will definetely shop again. Highly recommended. |

After reading about them and calling them once prior to the initial purchase, I decided to go with them to buy my camera lens. The second time, I called in to order a Nikon prime lens from them (Nikon 85mm f/1.8). I was helped by a sales rep who seemed fairly nice. After placing the order, the rep tried to do some upsell by asking if I wanted to get some filters. I kindly declined. He then asked me if I wanted to purchase a warranty. Because the item was a grey-market item, I decided to get the warranty. I also chose to get the 2-day air mail. 2 days later, the lens arrived at my house in great shape. I tested the lens for about 4 hours and found the lens to start malfunctioning. I called them back and their customer service team was able to offer me an exchange or return for absolutely no charge. Overall, great place to shop from. Great Customer Service team. Sales reps are kind of pushy with the upsell. |

Fred Wasser helped me with finding the right batteries and advised me about the wisdom of having more than one spare. I ordered the Pentax K10D camera and 2 batteries. As it turned out there was no additional cost for shipping with the two extra batts. Fred was helpful and took the time to discuss my order with me so that I could reach an informed decision. My experience with Adorama spans over 20 years when I bought my 2nd Pentax LX from them. I trust them and have NEVER been disappointed with their staff, products or service. I can recommend them without reservation.

I received immediate order confirmation followed by shipping information. I imediately knew all products I had ordered were in stock and would ship immediately. My sole complaint is they issue new numbers for each step of the process. For instance I buy often through Amzazon.com, which issues their order No., then Adorama issues their order No.. Then Adorama issues a number for the order like the invoice No. of this review. Lastly Adorama issues an invoice number. Sadly this last number has no connection or tie to a single number previously issued. It appears when your purchase is shipped, no it is not the shipper tracking number which they also transmit with the "invoice" No.. This "invoice" No. comes with no other way to locate the other numbers whatsoever! So if you like me make multiple purchases and like me some are out of stock, when a purchase is shipped and this "last" No. appears seemingly out of nowhere, you have no IDEA WHAT it is CONNECTED to..Meaning you are at a total loss as to what has been shipped. If like me you have numerous recent and out of stock items, you only find which is in that shipment after it arrives. A situation I have complained about multiple times. In fact pointed out the waste of storage space and man-hours to create and track this totally useless number. Not to consider the CONFUSION it brings into their otherwise excellent purchasing process. |

Service was excellent from Al Ext# 2263,(Tel# (800) 223-2500 Ext# 2263) Not only did he help me in making my purchasing, I must have asked him a dozen questions. He was polite, not pushy and answered all my questions quickly and intelligently.After the sale he immmediatly sent me a copy of my invoice via email. He even called me back to confirm my email when it came back as bad!! I had mistakenly gave him one letter to many!! Now that is service!!I ordered a canon Mark III, a simply wonderful camera that I am extremely happy to own. The after sale service is wonderful also, I wanted to return a memory card and was quickly given a RMA and a printable label. I didnt even have to pay return shipping. I would order from Al ext #2263 and adorama again.

Total cost $450 + $45 shipping + $132 duty VAT & handling = $627 = £314
UK price £329 + £90 = £419
My saving £105 ($210).

The reason I placed my order on Adorama had less to do with the difference in price (although that was a nice bonus, thankyou) and more to do with the fact that the Pocketwizard cable for Canon EOS 5D camera is unobtainable in the UK. According to UK photographic merchants that I've asked, Pocketwizard's UK agent isn't able (or maybe can't be bothered??) to supply the Canon EOS 5D cable.
Only one small niggle, regarding the search facility on adorama.com website.
A search for 'pocketwizard' brings up 10 items, but these do not include either plus 2 transceiver or cable for Canon EOS 5D camera.
A search for 'transceiver' brings up 15 items, including plus 2 transceiver, but again does not mention a cable for Canon cameras.
A search for 'N3' brings up 215 items (!!), including cable for Canon camera.
A search for CM-N3 brings up the correct cable.
In other words, unless you know a) that you need a connecting cable and b) the precise part number of the cable, you have no way of discovering this from product information.
May I suggest that:
a) a search for 'pocketwizard' brings up ALL pocketwizard items and accessories,
and
b) product information includes clear advice as to what cables are required to connect flash, camera or whatever.

There were some problems finding the correct cable for the FL-50R Flash, Power Grip bracket and Olympus E-510, which included shipping one cable which was wrong and cost me $5 to ship back. But, regardless, they are gentlemen to speak with and I will continue to purchase photographic equipment through them. |

When dealing with the sales people on the phone, I have them to be knowledgeable and courteous. I have only had to exchange a few items, but again I experienced no problems.
The prices and the selection of camera gear is second to none and based on my purchaes, I can highly recommend this store. |

I had to return an underwater strobe because it ended up not being compatible with my camera (which I blame on the manufacturer not being clear enough on their website, but I digress).
