Rating   5 / 5 Comment First I must say I don’t normally take my time to review unless something is too good or too bad. About BeachCamera.com; I MUST just say WOW! It was really the best purchase I have had online. On 7/7 I ordered a canon power shoot 770sd which by the way they offer one of the best prices + free shipping and no tax. I received it on 7/8!!!! With free shipping!!! The camera is perfect … I am really hard to please but I really believe they need some national recognition for their good service. I highly recommend them.

When I thought I had a problem with the mount, the staff was very patient, courteous and professional in offering advise. An exceptionally good experience.

Rating   5 / 5 Comment Overall, my wife and I are happy with our purchases through Beach Camera. We purchased (mostly for me) a Canon HG10 Hi-Def Camcorder w/ 40GB HDD and mini-SD (card used for stills only) for $689. Prices have dropped in last 6 weeks, and now runs about $625 from more reputable dealers like Beach -- check the ratings for anyone charging much less! I did before my purchase, and that is how I found this site, which seems to be a life saver from scammers, bait/switchers, etc. We also purchased (mostly for her) a Canon SD750 still cam w/ large 3" LCD for $170. We added a couple of hundred dollars of accessories to our order - cases, SD Card, mini-SD Card, LCD protectors, etc. Shipping was free. Everything arrived together and intact 2 days later, except the mini-SD Card used by the camcorder for stills, which was back-ordered. I received no e-mail warning about the back-order and the item was listed as “in stock” when I placed the order. The on-line invoice said only that the order was partially shipped, but no details. I sent an e-mail asking for confirmation that the mini-SD was in fact back-ordered, rather than lost, and when to expect it. Later, after careful inspection of the shipped invoice, I noticed that the line item for the mini-SD card showed a “0” in the column for the “number shipped”. It showed up about a week later via USPS Priority mail. All the same, it would have been nice to get a response to my e-mail, and some shippers will circle back-ordered items on the shipping invoice – a helpful clue! Another concern – the packaging was extremely sparse. There was no bubble wrap or peanuts at all. The box was barely big enough to hold all of the contents. I guess they figured the cases and blister packs for small items were enough padding, but the camcorder box was touching the outside wall of the shipping box on at least 3 sides, and the camera box on at least 2 sides. Fortunately, Canon does a good job protecting their stuff. In summary, while the communication was a bit on the spotty side and the packaging was less than ideal, it all turned out right within 10 days, and we got a great bargain.

Received instant confirmation via email. Notified by email that order shipped next day. Great prices / Excellent gear / Fast and Low Priced Shipping...doesn't get much better than that :)

Rating   1 / 5 Comment I don't know if my shopping experience with BeachCamera was illegal, but definitely shady in my opinion. I ordered a Sony 52" LCD tv after researching other sellers and finding they had the lowest price by $50 and it was in-stock. I received a message the following day from their verification department to call them. No problem, as I anticipated it. Called them back, verified my order, was told my order was in the warehouse and will ship later that day. I then received an email confirmation of my order having shipped. I also checked with my credit card company and verified the card had been charged to BeachCamera. Four days later I receive a email and voicemail message saying my order was cancelled. They gave no explanation as to why it was cancelled. They left a call-back number but everytime I called I got an answering machine and no live persons. I left a message to call me back for an explanation but haven't heard back. I then checked their website and found the tv was no longer listed on their site. Hmmm...Check again 5 days later and not only is the same tv back on the website, but it is listed as "in-stock" and is selling for $70 more! I've bought from BeachCamera once before many years ago, but after they wasted my time and jerked my chain this way, I will never buy from them again.

Rating   1 / 5 Comment BEWARE!!!I attempted to purchase a LG RC797T and phoned to confirm that the item was in stock. After being told that it was indeed in stock I placed the order and also ordered a rack to house the unit. Several days later I received a cancellation notice and my credit card was charged. I have placed 3 calls to the company and they will not return my calls! I incurred an additional $100 rack fee due to their negilence and I am still waiting for a credit.

Rating   5 / 5 Comment After experiencing a horrific experience with another website, I placed an order on June 11, 2008 for a Canon Powershot SD870 IS with Beach Camera. I received the camera on the following Saturday via FedX. The price was a little more than the other website, but it was worth every extra penny. I spoke with a rep regarding availability and she assured me I would receive the camera by Saturday. I highly recommend Beach Camera for a no worry order.

Now that's service. No tax and free shipping means it beats most other legit photo stores (b&h, adorama, etc.) This is e-commerce done right!

Rating   1 / 5 Comment Instead of writing a thesis I'll just sum up the events. 5/20 order my lens, it is marked "in stock" 5/25 call because my lens hasn't shipped yet, am told it is back ordered. Check back at the website, marked "in stock." I wasn't too upset, it was supposed to be there soon. 5/29 Lens ships 5/31 Lens gets to my house very fast, I was extremely happy; I wasn't going to be one of the people screwed by the company(see the very consistent bad reviews). Before even testing the lens I try to put on the filter I bought for it. The filter doesn't fit. My heart sinks, sure enough they shipped me the older, softer, cheaper version of the lens. 6/1 - 6/5 Have to deal with customer service several times, they did not give me all the information I needed all at once(giving my an RA number but not an RMA number). Finally ship the lens back to them To my horror, checking back on their website, they no longer even list the lens I bought. I still hope for the best, they told me it would be there within a week. I was both too busy and they were closed so I couldn't check with sales to see what was up. 6/11 Lens finally gets back to them. I first call sales and my fears are confirmed, they have no idea when this lens will be in. The lens I bought, that was marked in stock three weeks prior, that I was told would be there within a week, that I had spent the major part of my savings on, was never going to be in stock. Very angry now, though keeping it in control, I just asked to be transfered to customer service. I waited another good 20-25min on hold before demanding a refund. If I don't get this one thing in a timely manner I'm filing a dispute. Other important points - Hold times are at least 15min, often longer, and their hold message is quite annoying. When I've been waiting for a while I don't want to hear "assistance is right around the corner" and then wait just as long. - Customer service itself is decent enough though until I was noticeably upset the person on the other line made little attempt to sound like they cared. - I have to mention also that I found a better deal on this lens a few days after my purchase but assumed at the time that the lens was just about to ship so I didn't jump on it. Now my lenses price has risen about $50 everywhere. I'm going to have to spend at least $50-70 more, after waiting three weeks, because I chose to give this company a try. $30 in savings was not worth giving this company a try. If you do choose to shop with beach camera CALL SALES FIRST! Make sure what you want is in because I'm one of very many people who've been lied to this same way.

Rating   5 / 5 Comment I just bought the Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 from beachcamera.com and would definitely recommend them as a seller. There was a problem with running my credit card which made me have to call them at 3:00PM and stay on hold for 15-20 mins, but the problem was taken care of and shipped out that evening! I received it 3 days later in the factory Nikon box which was nicely packaged in a bigger box. Everything was as described, US warranty, all factory papers, ect.... I'm very happy with how the transaction went. They were the cheapest price for a US version of my lens, with the best reviews. I recommend them, you won't be disappointed.

Rating   5 / 5 Comment Ordered a Nikon D60 with a 18-55 VR and 55-200 VR lens and a Samsung T220 22' LCD Monitor on 5/17/08, which was a Saturday and I received the camera on Friday the 23rd and received my LCD monitor on Wednesday the 28th. I did choose 7-9 business days so I received them earlier then expected. Both items were packaged well and everything I ordered I received perfectly fine, no damage and both are working well. I'd definitely order from Beach Camera again. I highly recommend it as well.

For a company touting that they have excellent customer service and BBB seal of approval I had to listed to the BS for over 30m before talking to someone. Here are the facts: 05/16: Ordered a Samsung LN40A550 for $1200 and free shipping. Item was listed as in stock. Received order confirmation stating 48-72h handling time. 05/21: Called since Order was not shipping and no follow-on communication. Was told that they had trouble shipping from their warehouse and they will mark my order to expedite and ship tomorrow. 05/22: No shipment confirmation 05/23: Called and waited 30m for a CS rep. Guy was border line rude (must be getting a lot of complaints lately) when asked what my order status is. He said that they just received them and will ship out on Tuesday due to the memorial holiday. No apology. No offer to ship quicker for the lost time. Just blamed it on Samsung that they didn't deliver the order. He wasn't apologetic for wasting a week of my time. When I asked him why they listed as in stock when I order he said they had a few. Can't trust a bunch of lying folks. So much for good customer service. Ordered at bhphotovideo.com for $50 more and free shipping. Here is the order # BN1910190 as proof that I am not just bashing.

Rating   1 / 5 Comment I placed an order for a Canon 40D before they opened on Monday. I paid for the expidted shipping and as of Wednesday they still have not shipped my camera or accessories. I called Tuesday afternoon and was told my order was going to ship that day. IF you look at my invoice online it shows the camera not in stock. It was in stock when I ordered it. I asked the sales person what this ment, and she stated it was in stock and it was going to ship Tuesday. As of Wednesday my order still says processing. I orderd some things from Amazon.com at the same time as this and I received them already. Apparently they are a small company and can not ship on time all of the time.

Rating   1 / 5 Comment Ordered a Nikon D60 DSLR kit with SB-400 speedlight flash on-line. Not the best price, but close, and included a free Sandisk 2 gb Ultra 2 SD card. Website showed everything in-stock. Shipping confirmation same day said my order had been shipped. So far so good, very painless, no annoying call to up sell. Order arrived on-time, seven days later. Shipping box has camera kit only--no flash, no free SD card. Called customer service and was told flash is out-of-stock. Mentioned that it was in-stock when I ordered. Was told it must have gone out-of-stock just after I ordered, but would be back in-stock in "3-5 days." Website still shows flash as being in-stock. Hmmm.... Asked to cancel that part of my order. CS rep was not going to refund me that portion of my shipping fee until I specifically asked. Asked about the missing free SD card. Was told that it was a separate promo and would be mailed to me in a couple of days. Boooo, Beach Camera!

Both cameras were quickly shipped in pristine Canon packaging with all accessories and a USA warranty. Beach Camera’s pricing is very competitive (usually on the lower side) and their customer service is outstanding. I would buy from Beach Camera again in a heartbeat rather then risk something with an unknown seller

No hassling calls at call. Very smooth. The D80 kit works great and comes with an US warranty as expected.

Rating   5 / 5 Comment Great service, I ordered Panasonic TH-46PZ85U and it was delivered to my house 7 days later. I received the tracking number the following day after placing the order. To my surprise no one called and tried upselling things that I didn't ask for, or to tell me that this particular model is out of stock. The TV was delivered on time and in great shape, no signs of damage on the box or on the actual TV. I'm very happy with this transaction as it saved me hundreds of dollars over buying the same TV locally.

Everything was brand new... never even opened... including accessories which I hadn't even expected. This was the most satisfactory online transaction I have ever had... in addition to being the best price... even lower than the same camera at B&H refurbished. This is definitely my camera store of choice, and I recommend it without reservation to everyone!

Great service, great prices, and have ordered from them once after that, and everything was a great experience. Would def buy from them again.

Rating   4 / 5 Comment The Good: Ordered a Garmin nuvi 660 about 5:00 PM Monday night. Went for normal (free) delivery, 6-10 days. Tuesday morning there was already an e-mail with a tracking number. I checked the tracking number, and Surprise! - The package was already out for delivery! Unfortunately, no one was home... Got the unit the next day. The Bad: Packaging was OK, but not good. Slight damage to the outer box. The box from the manufacturer was fine, but it was not sealed (It didn't look like it was supposed to have been sealed though.) The unit was not well protected inside the manufacturer's box. This may just be the way Garmin packages things, I don’t know. Don’t know if it had been opened. Unit came out of the box, and started working immediately, no problems, no need to charge. However, I noticed that inside the box, there was a fuse and a few other pieces bouncing around. I determined that the tip of the car adapter had broken off, and the parts were from it. So on Friday, I tried calling Beach Camera. Got a “Call back during business hours” message. Ditto for Saturday and Sunday. Now, this was Good Friday, and Easter weekend, so apparently they were closed (This wouldn’t have happened with B&H…) Anyway, I got through on Monday, and was politely told to call Garmin first, and if that didn’t work, to call back Beach . The guy at Garmin told me I had to register my unit before he could help me. Did that Monday night. I called Garmin back on Tuesday. The guy I talked to on Tuesday didn’t care about registration. He just took my info and sent me a replacement adapter straight away. No problem - except it wasn’t the right adapter. I had him that it was a car adapter, and that was what he sent. I finally read the manual and figured out that what was broken was actually the FM Traffic receiver. (Garmin has a price of over $200 on these!) I also found out how to take it apart, and with a drop of instant glue, was able to fix it. The repaired Traffic adapter works, except for the lack of traffic info in the Lehigh Valley area, where I live. Good for Philly, though. And now I also have the car adapter that they sent me, which is correct for the unit, and works. Conclusions: 1. Beach Camera delivers. 2. If I was more aggressive, and read the manual, I could have resolved this faster. 3. Garmin is a bit disorganized, and their packaging isn’t great, but their CS department did what I ask (and promptly) to make me happy. 4. Some stores still close for holidays, and give their employees a break. Oh, and about the nuvi 660? It absolutely Rocks!

Rating   1 / 5 Comment I ordered a 4GB SD card from Beach Camera due to a manufacturer rebate offered on the item, making the price very attractive. Beahc Camera's website makes a point to state that you may NOT use a PO Box as they only ship via Fed Ex. Therefore, I was forced to enter a street address for my order. A couple days later I received a tracking # for my order with a link to USPS. I immediately contacted Beach and was told my order shipped USPS. I told them I could not get mail at my residence and therefore would nto get the item. I was told to wait and wait I did. The item was returned to sender (Beach) as I told them it would be. I contacted them 2x since it was back at their PO (or in their possession) and was told I should wait some more. Tonight I received an email stating that I would have to wait for them to file a claim with USPS because they swear they don't have it. Not my problem. I want the card I paid for and I am sick of waiting because of THEIR continued mistakes. A refund won't help me either because the purchase period for the rebate has passed and therefore I can't even order the item from another retailer. Initially I was excited with how fast Beach shipped my order. I thought I had found a new shop for my online camera purchases. I now see though that when Beach makes a mistake, they force the customer to suffer, refusing to take responsibility for their errors. I have yet to receive my item.

Rating   5 / 5 Comment I ordered a nikon d80 with 18-135 lens and sb-600 flash on tuesday noon. It was at my door friday 8am. They had the best price and free shipping. I called to ask a couple of questions and they took my order over the phone. I was done in about 5 minutes. He did ask if i needed an extra battery or camera bag but i declined and that was it. No pressure sales tactics. He was very courteous. I plan on getting a 70-300vr lens in the future and will use beach camera. This was a great transaction.

Rating   5 / 5 Comment Bought a Nikon D80 and Nikon 18-200mm VR lens. Beach Camera was the next to least expensive place to buy at if you didn't get any extended warranties. The lens came with a 5 year extended warranty free of charge and the camera 5 year warranty was $69.95 which beat the other place by $130.00, making Beach Camera the least expensive by far. The best part was I ordered online at 9pm and the order shipped as advertised (USA Warranties) the very next day. (No phone calls to "verify" my address or otherwise.) This store is 100% legit and I would not hesitate to recommend it to my best friend or boss.

I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 780 for $236 less then both Best Buy and Circuit City had it for and Beach even threw in free overnight shipping. 24 hours and I had the GPS in my hand. No high pressure tactics or calling back to verify anything with anyone. I put Beach Camera on my "check them first" list the next time I go shopping for new toys.

Rating   3 / 5 Comment Nice TV. Arrived with no blemishes or scratches on panel. Found a few dead/stuck pixels but i'm not going to worry about that, can't see from my viewing distance. Only complaint I have is I paid for expedited shipping (1-3 business days) and it took 7 business days for it to get to me. They were going to ship the tv in 12 business days. I asked the representative if it was pointless that I had paid for expedited shipping. She then put me on hold, came back and said they could do it on the 7th business day. As this was the earliest available I had no choice but to accept. Otherwise good experience, awesome television.

Not too bad considering I live in Colorado and Beachcamera.com is in New Jersey! Everything was as advertised and the price was just about the cheapest I could find. Excellent buying experience.

I live in Portugal and had the items shipped to NYC to my friend's apartment. I had to call them to place the call (since it was an international order, despite of being shipped to US), but with a Skype account that was easy... I had the items shipped the next day, and delivered one day later... Two days... I can't ask for more... The phone conversation with the salesman was nice, and didn't tried to sell me more than I wanted... I would definitely buy from Beach Camera again...

Rating   3 / 5 Comment I have done business with Beach Camera on numerous occasions. All transactions have been problem-free until this last order I placed with them for 12 camcorders. The order was supposed to be shipped freight free. My order receipt that I printed as I finished my online order indicated that there were no shipping charges. Then I received an email stating that I needed to call their customer service number which I promptly did. I was told only one of the camcorders was to be shipped free. I would have to pay the freight for the other eleven. No where on their site do they mention that if you order more than a quantity of one of a particular item, only one of the items is freight free and there are freight charges on the others. I have ordered multiple quantities of an item in the past and have never had this problem. If this is a new policy, then they need to make it clear on their website. Otherwise, this is a bit deceptive. They indicated that they would give the matter some consideration. I would think that they would want their customers to know exactly what is meant by "free freight."

Rating   5 / 5 Comment Beach Camera is one of the very best sites for delivering as promised. Ordered a 42in hdtv on Mar 13th and the accessory package arrived within 24 hrs. The tv itself arrived exactly as promised in pristine shape. no damage whatsoever. Can only have rave reviews for this company along with a terrifc customer service department. They helped me correct a misorder that I did and was treated with the upmost care and concern for my order. Can recommend this great company for any of their products. Will definitly order from them again.

Rating   5 / 5 Comment I recently purchased a 47" Toshiba LCD and my purchase experience was telling. I purchased the Regza from Beach Camera(beachcamera.com) and was thoroughly pleased with service and price... The absence of shipping fees and sales tax was that much more an advantage. As a matter of course, I did check Circuit City and Best Buy to see if they could compete. The experiences were telling. The representatives at Circuit City tried, but acknowledged that I was getting a great deal they couldn't match. I came away feeling they appreciated my business and recognized my effort to shop around for a good deal. The representative at Best Buy laughed at me, stating "you can't get that for that much." I came away feeling at the least disrespected, moreso ridiculed. I will be returning to Beach Camera and Circuit City for major purchases in the future. I will not be returning to Best Buy for such purchases. Instead, I will be returning to Best Buy only for their loss leaders... selectively purchasing those items they have deeply discounted to draw in customers... and then leaving for Beach Camera and Circuit City for the stuff that matters... that is, it appears, what Best Buy wants.
