| Rating | 1 / 5 | | Comment | The order arrived OK, but they apparently try to avoid sending the free shipping rebate - after two months wait when their rebate processing center happily recognized the order but was "processing", they changed the status to "can't find your order" and don't want to pay the rebate. It is apparent rebate fraud. |

| Rating | 5 / 5 | | Comment | I placed on order on-line (on the 5th) with home depot and then found this site and I have to say, you guys had me seriously stressed. I ordered a collated screwdriver and some laminate tile. The screwdriver came very quickly (delivered on the 9th) but the tile kept saying "Routed" as the status. I was all paranoid that it was never going to come because everyone on this site had such a bad experience. I sent them an email (without any order information) asking what a status of "Routed" meant. The customer service rep took the time to check my email address and find my specific order. They explained what "Routed" meant and made sure that I received my screwdriver. This morning I got shipping confirmation for my flooring. As far as I'm concerned, homedepot.com is doing a great job. I've had no problems at all except for stress caused by reading reviews :) Let's hope it's the flooring I actually ordered and not engine parts!!
I will definitely order from homedepot.com again.
Oh and I was confused about the person waiting a month for UPS to pick up their package to return it. Why not just drive to the UPS distribution center and drop it off? It's a lot easier than being chained to your house for a week. Might be a good drive (mine is a 35 minute drive) but I'd rather that than waita month for someone to come and get it. |

| Quality of retailer website | 1 / 5 | | Standard of service - items in stock | 1 / 5 | | Quality of sales service and warranty | 1 / 5 | | Standard of service - ordering | 1 / 5 | | Summary | We built a new house and ordered all our appliances from Home Depot. The sales person told us about a Home Depot rebate program. We purchased all of our appliances and the sales person helped us fill out the rebate forms. The rebates should have been $650. After about two months of waiting I called the rebate center and was told that my rebate was rejected and needed to be resubmitted.
It took over 8 months of calling and eventually threatening to sue Home Depot for them to issue my rebate cards. I filled out the rebate forms with the sales person and it was filled out correctly. My opinion is that Home Depot intentionally makes their rebate program difficult and cumbersome so customers will not receive their rebates on time and in some cases not at all. If I hadn't of threatened to sue, I would still not have my rebate cards. Home Depot cannot tell me what was wrong with my rebate form. Home Depot needs to hear how frustrating their rebate program is! From reading other reviews online, I can see that my case is a common occurrence.

| Rating | 1 / 5 | | Comment | Ordered a GE disposal unit for a sink online. The online system makes mention of a $55 shipping charge for all appliances ordered online. Contacted the Home Depot rep who said the system is screwed up and they only charge that for large appliances. Decided it might be better if I phoned in the order. The sales rep on the phone said the order process over the phone takes 30 minutes. I thought at first she was joking, but she insisted she wasn't. So, I went back to Home Depot's online system and ordered from there.
At the end of the online process you are instructed to talk to a Home Depot rep on the phone to complete the deal and find out about shipping charges. Isn't the purpose of an online system to avoid having to use a phone? Anyway, I talked to a rep on the phone and was informed that they would send me pricing information and shipping information by email. I never got that, but only a form letter with an order number. So, I called and asked Home Depot about that and they said they would send another email. The second email was as the first.....no info other than an order number.
Home Depot telephone support line verified that the order went through, but after talking to GE, they said they never got the order. I waited an hour thinking maybe Home Depot's 386's were struggling to keep up with order processing. I called GE a second time and they said they never got the order from Home Depot.
I wasted another hour on the phone with Home Depot people who insisted the order went through and the problem was all in my imagination. Home Depot said they would email tracking information the following day, but I never received that info. At that point I decided I had enough and called Home Depot to cancel the order.
I canceled the order on the phone with Home Depot but the rep said my master card had already been charged. I asked the rep whether the disposal unit had already shipped. She said she didn't know, but would call back within three hours with that info. Never heard back.
Home Depot's online system in obviously broken, but they don't seem to know it. Unless you like nightmares, stay away from Home Depot's online system. Good luck.... |

| Rating | 1 / 5 | | Comment | We went to Home Depot to purchase installed carpet. They sent a person out to measure. The sales associate called and stated that we needed 44 sq. yds. I had measured and determended that I needed 36 sq. yds. I asked if I could sign a waver taking responsibility for the measurement. They said no, they could only install the carpet as measured. This would require the carpet to be layed with two seams. Since this was the carpet my wife wanted, I ordered 36 sq. yds.(12'x27') contracted the installation with a licensed installer. The carpet was installed without any seams. |
