Unfortunately, their customer service and shipping are horrible. I ordered the items on the 8th, and nothing was shown as backordered. BUT, the next day, one item is backordered. Was told the item would ship by the 10th. Nothing. Was then told the item would ship on the 11th because the item was in. Nope. The items didn't ship till the 14th and received on the 15th. Their customer service is lacking in genuine concern as well. Today is the 18th and I just got the shipping and tracking information by email!!! Highly unsatisfied. |

Ordered Vista OS and WD Hard drive which both came with free shipping pretty much got my business. Directron is a great place to buy OS and HD, plus it a great place to save money (taxes). Shipping takes 5 days; ordered on Sunday received on Friday. I would consider the shipping speed FAST.

Directron shipped it the same day I ordered it, even though I was using their free ground shipping offer. It arrived when promised and was well packaged. I have ordered from Directron several times over the last few years and have always received this same good service and would recommend them. |

One with the confirmation of the oder, another the next day when it was shipped out and another with the UPS tracking number which was on time! Each email also had contact info on where to reach them if any questions arise.. |

We ran a memory test program which showed the RAM as being PC2700, instead of the PC2100 we ordered. Tech support said the problem was an incompatibility with this generic RAM, and said I could RMA the memory, but I was out of luck as far as getting credit for the $20 2nd day shipping. This does not seem a satisfactory solution since I probably wouldn't have this problem if they'd sent the correct speed RAM, generic or not.
I'll RMA it, but I'll buy the replacement memory somewhere else. |

When I opened the box the DVD had rubbed against the manual because some moron at Microsoft put the disk in facing up.
It won't install because it is scratched and it gets a read error.
I called back to report it and they connected me to some body in the returns dept that said they would have Microsoft send me a new DVD.
Its been a month and I called back to find out what happened and it turns out they were just giving me lip service and there is no record of it.
Now I get the 7 day return policy BS from customer support.
I will never buy another thing from these people.
You suck!! |

I was looking for a good power supply for my computer, and they had the best price, and the best shipping, so I decided to go with them. Now I'm glad that I did use directron to purchase this. Mainly because they were very quick to respond when my card wouldn't go through, due to an address problem, and told me how to resolve the issue. I really like that, most just send you an email, and nothing else. Due to this, directron will now be another one of the e-stores I shop at. Highly satisfied with service!
It will do you good to give them a shot if you haven't heard or used them before. Highly recommended! |

| Rating | 1 / 5 | | Comment | Not very happy with these guys. They were the only ones with the mbd we needed in stock but after the order was placed online several things happened:
- our bank called to confirm that the order was legit which means Directron did not submit the charge properly.
- we did not get Fedex tracking number emailed right away as stated would happen on the site (checked spam filter etc of course)
- got a call from somebody saying the shipping cost presented on the site was $10 too low and did they have our permission to charge the higher amount. This, coupled with the lack of email above, says the site is no longer linked to Fedex and they're doing it all manually, not a good sign.
- and last but not least, once we gave the approval for the increased shipping, the gentleman on the phone asked for our card verification number! This should NEVER happen, even if the transaction has a change in charges there should be an open transaction still there to do this with. The CVV is one of the very few protections against somebody hacking a site and proceeding to charge up everybody's card. Even though we were pretty sure the gentleman on the phone was legit, it is actually impossible to know whether or not that was really the case, so we canceled the order.
In summary, there's a lot of good reviews on here, but I would still recommend some care dealing with these guys. |

I was having it shipped to my office instead of my home which was my billing address so they needed additional verification which they were prompt at calling me about. After verification, I was told the product would ship out the following day. Three days later I had still not received a tracking number. I proceded to use Directron's online forum to attempt to resolve the issue. "CS_George" was extremely helpful got the product shipped out the next day complete with tracking number and offered to refund my shipping for the delay which I never asked for.
I am very pleased with Directron's customer service. They were very quick to resolve my issue despite the hiccup with the shipping. It is definitely a pleasure doing business with them. |

Great customer service but their website needs an update, it looks like something that was made like 10 years ago and was never updated. It works great to find things but it could be a bit better looking.
I would definately order from them again. |

Tried using the tracking they have on the website but it states that order can not be found. If you plan on ordering from these people dont waste your time. Go to frozencpu and get it. I just went ahead and reorder from another source and I know it was shipped out already because they sent me verification without having to ask. |

| Rating | 5 / 5 | | Comment | I just placed my first order this minute so I don't know anything else about this company, but I think it is interesting that when I tried to look at the user reviews to find out why it only had 3 stars, I could never get past the first page of 5 star reviews. Every time I clicked next page I would end up at the product reviews. Only after I placed my order could I access all the reviews. The reason for the 3 star average is mostly bad customer service, return policy and shipping issues (or non-shipping).
Having said all that, I was able to access the company reviews 3 days later with no trouble so maybe I was doing it wrong before. Also, right after I placed my order Directron called to verify and said it would ship soon and I would probably have it by the 14th. And, yes, today (April 14) I received the remote I ordered. And it works perfectly. I would definitely order from here again. |

4-7-08 Order charged and confirmed.
4-7-08 Recieved tracking number for order.
4-8-08 I got my package and was happy. Opened up the box and noticed the CD was in between the pages of the manual. Noticed the "Factory Sealed" sticker was stuck to the outside of the booklet. The elctro-static plastic around the mobo was NOT sealed. Inspected the Mobo and it was dusty. There was dust on the card slots, and "fuzz" in some of the heat sinks.
This was either sitting out OR had been used. So my trek begins...
1. I called them and spoke with a CSRnamed Arman. He said I can return it and he will send me a new one....but wait...that IP35-E was the LAST one they had. So I need to talk to sales to see if I can get something else. Send me e-mail instruction on how to make an RMA.
2. Transferred to "sales" and spoke to a woman. Explained the situation. She asked if I bought it on "Clearance or Quicksale" I said no. Got transffered.
3. Spoke to Timothy. Not to be mean but had such a horrible Asian accent I couldnt understand 1/2 the stuff he said. He was nice and suggested an Intel board...or an Asus board, because again the last Abit IP35-E was sold to me. I said there is neither that I want because of price and/or features. Come to find out he was giving me personally advice because he is Returns not sales. What?? He tells me I need to talk with "George" who is the CS Manager. He cannot transfer me so I need to call back, but he gave me an ext.
4. Called George. While it was ringing I went to the website to try and order the board again and when placed in my basket and it said there was no more. Ok...just wanted to make sure. Spoke with George and was told thats odd because this Mobo in our system has only 1 sale attached to it...so it SHOULD be new. I assured him wasnt. He said he will talk with his distrubtor becaue they must have sent a used board. Whatever. He asked if I needed a refund. I said no, I need a Mobo. I told him there were no more IP35-E's according to 2 people. He put me on hold for a minute, came back and said he went to the warehouse and did find 1 more. He checked it himself and said it was new. Said he needs to speak with "Marco" who is gone for the day but will get with him first thing in the morning, to get this new Mobo out to me, and get me info on how to send this one back.
So I should be getting a call this morning. I just find it odd that I was shipped a used board and then told by 2 people they had no more...then told they do. I am not going to judge them until this comes to a conclusion.
4-9-08 Spoke with George. Sadly everyone else there is not very helpful. George said he can ship me a new mobo today, and I can send the old one back, but I need to purchase it again, and they will credit me when they get my old one. Called later that day and spoke with a "Khai". Asked him to verify the contents of whats being shipped and when. I got an e-mail
"Please use exactly in a couple of hours
XXX-XXXX
On our website on the website please type in on right hand side ::You
should
be able to track it"
I asked again what the CONTENTS are and got "It has been shipped. Like what my super visor advised YOU (george). "
Wow. Thats not only didnt answer my question, but for a CSR has bad typing and people skills.
4-10-08 Got the new Mobo. It IS new. Looks fine. George sent me what I wanted. Now shipping the old one back for credit.

They're always in the top 2 or 3 companies in terms of price, the speed of shipping has been great considering it comes from Texas to California, and after about 5 orders totaling well over $2k, I'm very satisfied and feel I can trust them. For the first time on this order I actually rang and spoke with a nice woman named Vicki and it made the whole experience much more human.
I'm a new fan of Directron and will definitely shop there again! |

Fast processing of custom computer and quick delivery. Professional looking assembly of computer and obvious care in packaging unit and all material packaging used to build the unit.
Called technical support with question. Got through quickly & technition was helpfull & knowledgeable in resolving my concern.
I have been buying computer parts from Directron for years & am always pleased with the quality, price, fast delivery & costomer service.
I will continue to purchase from Directron & recomend them to others.

| Rating | 1 / 5 | | Comment | Placing the order was simple and prices were competitive. I received a tracking number for my (what I thought was first and only) package and it arrived Wednesday after placing the order on Sunday.
My only issue that turns out to be a deal breaker regarding any future business is that when I received my package on Wednesday, it did not contain the entire order. It turns out that the shipping invoice noted that the rest of my order was being "drop shipped" from an affiliate warehouse. That is a bit unsettling. I called their Customer Service at 9:25 CST and by the sounds of it, a 17 yr old kid (reading the typical script) answered the phone. I told him my situation and he said he would check into it, but some woman who works with him has not come to work yet (25 min late?.. great business model?) and only she could get me the tracking number for the package that had been drop shipped. He assured me he would email it to me as soon as he got it. Fast forward two hours, I placed another phone call, same kid answered, and now they were waiting for the "warehouse" to call them back. Fast forward another 6 hours. I contacted them via Yahoo messenger and they STILL do not have a tracking number because this "warehouse" has not called them back. Now I am pissed because I have been charged over $500 waiting almost a week for an item that unbeknownst to me was not actually in stock, but being dropped shipped from an entirely different location. Combine this with the fact that I have been waiting over 8 hours now for a tracking number on a package that was supposedly shipped on the 3/25 is unacceptable. Either they lied and listed an out of stock item as in stock and charged me and are making me wait until it's back in stock with the threat of restocking fees and return shipping charges or they are just lazy and can not be bothered to call their "warehouse" and get me a tracking number.
Either way, I am not ordering from them ever again. I'd rather pay slightly higher prices at Newegg but not have to deal with this run around drop shipping bullshit.
update #1- I finally received a tracking number on SATURDAY! The package was not even shipped until Friday. I still believe they sold me an out of stock item and got lucky that it was back in stock after a week. In the year 2008 with e-commerce being commonplace, this kind of service and support is just totally unacceptable. If you choose to shop here be aware that A) "in stock" is not real time as they have no way to track their "affiliate" warehouses and most items come from their "affiliate" warehouse and B) if you run into any problems, the people who answer the customer service number and run their help support forums are about on par with the equal opportunity hires that work at McDonald's. The prices at Directron are tempting, but save yourself the trouble and frustration and shop at Newegg.

PSU was packaged well and arrived on time. Shipping cost was a little high, but the price of the product and quick processing more than makes up for it.
