CommentIt has been a pleasure dealing with Tiger Direct and their representative. Most recently, salesman Gustavo 5361 helped me with an exchange and made the whole process quick and painless. Great prices, great people, FAST SHIPPING on top of it all! I recommend Tiger Direct to anyone looking for a good deal!

CommentOrdered an OCZ FlexXLC Edition Dual Channel 2048MB PC9600 DDR2 1200MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB)from TigerDirect on Thursday 2.7.2008.
Phoned the order in to actually speak with TIGER as I needed to have this $269.99 part overnighted at an additional cost of $50.
Well the rep assured me this would be the case.
check on the order the next day to get the tracking info and find out the rep screwed up processing the CC and requested two authorizations. The order never processed.
I then contacted TigerDirect back to request the authorizations be removed from my CC on Friday.
I was assured they would be. Tuesday I check and the authorizations are still there.
I try and contact CS again to explain that I need these authorizations removed and get shuffled around some of the same reps over the course of about 35 minutes, until I am finally bounced back to the main IVR.

Really wonderful, I must tell you.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this trainwreck.

CommentWilliam C., x5860, provided excellent service as he worked to troubleshoot a delivery error. He recognized my value as a new customer and made sure that I received all of my materials in a timely fashion. I have had two chat session interactions with TD.com (the other was with Marcos M.) and I am impressed with the level of customer service. Thanks guys!

CommentThe check out was easy, however, the confirmation invoice that came up after I paid by credit card on the web was half blank and for items I never heard of. Somewhat scarey, but luckily it was a $0 cost for total. The confirmation email I recieved was correct. The item did arrive fast (even one day early). Other then the ordering web glitch everything went very nicely and at the lowest price I could find.

CommentOrdered a laptop hard drive and 3 ram sticks for a desktop machine and 2 laptops. Ordered on a Monday, everything came in via UPS by Thursday. Absolutely no issues to report negatively, except that they will try to get you to buy a utility to optimize RAM on a Windows box. Would definitely order from them again and would recommend to others.

2G ram
1 Wireless Router
1 USB Wireless network USB adaptor.

Order came in and I unpacked the items,Plugging the power into the new wireless router gave me concern as NO lights lit up on the front.

I called the routers manufacturer to see if I was doing something wrong...I wasnt,The router was DOA.

The manufacturer told me that It would take them around 2 weeks to get me another router...Not good so I go back to the reseller that has return policies for its customers.


Tiger direct really blow to be honest,They are great as long as you dont have a problem,If ya have a problem your pretty much on your own....

Tiger Direct gave me two options.

1:Return router to them and purchase another router there and then,I will be out of pocket untill the old router is received / checked by them and it will take around a week for them to get me a new router....Expedited shipping Sir? Yes If ya wanna pay it YOURSELF!

2:Return the router,Wait for them to receive it / process it and get me a new one,Turnaround approx 3 weeks.

So,For the heinous crime of ordering from Tiger Direct I get shafted either way,No expedited shipping,Not a mention of an apology and they would be happy to either take more of my hard earned dollars from me or keep me waiting 3 weeks....

I have been a retail manager for 20+ years,A district manager / auditor for the past 10 yrs,You are not judged on how things are when the sky is bright and sunny you are truly judged when things are deep dark and tough,In this instance they have been judged very poorly by myself and if this were one of my stores I would be somewhat ashamed.

I tell my staff daily,Its ok to make a mistake,Its ok for things to go wrong,Whats important is that we go back and make the wrongs right,Obviously TD need to reading some of the retail bibles out there......

UPDATE:
I have returned the DOA router,Was able to buy the same thing at best buy for $9.00 less the same day.......Amazingly TD give you $6.00 to cover shipping,They recommend you insure your package...So,Shipping from me to them is $12.50...

Let me understand this....

I send u my hard earned money.
You send me a faulty product.
I return faulty product which costs me futher...Nice!

This gets even better actually....The Wireless USB connector that we purchased at the same time has been problematic....It keeps dropping off the network,One minute we have internet connection and the next minute we dont...On off like a lightswitch....

I run a network of 25 pcs at work So i check and recheck network settings....We are good....My last option is to replace the wireless USB adaptor with a new one....So its off to best buy once more,Pick out the same product,Pay less for it and come home.....

Replacing the adaptor with the new one,Our dropping problem is eliminated.....

So,We order 3 things from TD.
Two that are sent to us are faulty.
They will refund me on the router(so they say) and will do so in their own time.

They offer NO support on the adaptor,If ya buy a USB adaptor from these peeps and its no good YOU HAVE NO RETURN POLICY ON IT!

What a complete and utter mess,Check out the new egg rating V Tiger direct....Its real interesting!

CommentMy order included a shipping and handling price of $84.39 but when the order arrived at the shipping address in Uk the recipient was charged a further 82.43GBP. Despite sending you the IPS invoice and the UPS receipts and e mailing you many times I have yet to receive a refund and except for one e mail from a 'Rachel' asking for a copy of the invoice you have not even had the courtesy to acknowledge my e mails. However, your marvelous system can keep sending me details of more bargains to be had!!

CommentI ordered the Toshiba 40" Super Narrow Bezel LCD TV -m a bundled package with HD-DVD player, HDMI cable, 9 Free HD Movies. Price was great. Delivered in half the alloted time. Plug and Play and work perfectly. Tigerdirect.com got it right and I rate them a 5 star.

CommentI was looking for a good deal on 4 computer monitors. I heard from a friend about TigerDirect.com so I decided to check them out. They basically get products from business's who are up grading and then I believe they refurbise them. I eded up getting really nice monitors for next to nothing. I highly recommend TigerDirect. They also packed the monitors really good which was very surprising.

CommentI recently had to call the customer support line at Tiger Direct to voice a concern I had regarding my purchase. Fortunately my call was answered by Jonathan Thomas, ext. 5822. Mr Thomas was able to analyze my problem, effectively diffuse my anger and frustration and discover the root cause of my problem. It turns out that I bought a Toshiba HD DVD player that was to have 4 dvd's in the box and 5 mail in. I only found 2 and a packing slip indicating that only two were in my shipment. I used Google Checkout for the first time and I had originally contacted them to resolve my problem. After going back and forth a few times they gave up and stopped answering my inquiries. I told them that I would not open the box until they (Google) found out whaere the other dvd's were or I would cancel the order and return the unopened box. Mr Thomas researched the ad and came to the conclusion that there were 2 missing dvd's and that they were inside the product box which I had refused to open.Mr Thomas is to be commended for his keen insight and for making a customer want to return to your store. Thank you.

CommentI ordered two Hitachi hard drives from tigerdirect.ca on Jan 14 (Order number D0079924). Both of them turned out to be DOA. One of the representatives I talked to was awful. She told me to directly call Hitachi and find out if the hard drives are compatible with my system as if it were my mistake. I explained to her that all SATA hard drives should work in SATA system but she didn't listen. After wasting one whole day testing the bad hard drives, I had to call Hitachi (and wait on hold again). Apparently she doesn't know what she is doing. After this awful experience, I wrote a review of Hitachi hard drives on their website. I did not know before that these reviews are censored. (They seem to post only good reviews.) This is a deceitful act of Tigerdirect.ca. Don't beleve the product reviews on their website.

CommentI bought an HP9620US on Tigerdirect and anxiously waited for its delivery.When I came home the laptop was by my doorstep and I was not happy because I am supposed to sign for it according to Tigerdirect's shipping policy on their website.I went ahead and opened the package,hooked up my new laptop and there was a traaaaaaatraaaaa traaa sound coming from the speakers.I thought it was interference and took it to the far side of the house and the sound still persisted.I then checked the model number and found out that Tigerdirect had shipped the wrong model,an HP Pavilliion Dv9000 instead.I then called Tigerdirect and got a representative who advised me that I had to report this problem with the manufacturer.I argued that I just received the laptop and had not even used it but the agent was persistent and gave the number 800 551 8225.I called the number and got nowhere.Well I called TigerDirect back and got another agent named Gene at ext 5390.Gene quickly acknowledged my problem and offered to send me a UPS return label .He also offered to reship a replacement laptop same day next day.WOW.I was happy with this type o customer service.Gene examplifies the type of Sales Associates Tigerdirect should employ as he turned my dissapointment around and quickly resolved my issue.I will buy from Tigerdirect ony because of Gene and the I was pleased with his level of Customer Service.

CommentEverything went without a hitch. Ordered on 1/22 at night, shipped the following day. Prices are reasonable, although taxes and shipment costs can be expensive depending on the state you live in. And unlikely the product will ship in-state.

The item I ordered is a refurb T-mobile Dash. Came with the bare essentials, but no CD or manuals which was expected. The device itself had a little knick on the top which wasn't that noticeable and also expected.

Shipment was received boxed reasonably well with huge air packs. No damage present.

Overall I am satisfied with the order. Quick and simple. The way on-line ordering should be.

CommentThe first time I ordered from Tiger Direct, I received an item that was clearly misadvertised. I wrote to them and received no response.

The second time (I should have learned, I know...), I ordered two items.
They split the order and sent a tracking number for the first item.
Soon afterwards, I received a 2nd shipping notification, but the UPS tracking number was still only valid for the 1st item.

Upon logging in to their site to find out where the 2nd item was, I found they shipped to some unknown person living thousands of miles away.

I wrote to them via their online email form and stated... as my FIRST words... "Do Not Call" (a phone number is required to send the form.)

So what did they do?
They called early in the morning and their first words were "We're sorry for calling so early."

I then checked my email and a person from Tiger said "Clearly, we've dropped the ball, and in doing so have risked losing a customer whose loyalty (considering the circumstances) has been far above and beyond the call of duty."

DO NOT BUY FROM TIGER DIRECT!!!
They make mistakes one on top of another and have no clue how to ship, provide feedback or perform customer service.
All these other negative reviews didn't come out of thin air.
Tiger Direct is a bad reseller.

Update!
Patrice from TigerDirect emailed me asking how they can make up for their mistakes.
While replying, I received a forged header email that I then traced to TigerDirect.
Upon asking Patrice why I received this email, I was told this HIGHLY unlikely and very lame excuse from her:

There is nothing suspicious, "synthfool" is another customer I was emailing, and I copied my signature from that email.

If it was another customer and her signature, why on Earth would *I* receive it?

She goes on to say: "I honestly have no idea what that email was in reference to, and from whom it was from."

Can you believe this?
She sent an email to someone else and doesn't know why or what it was?
I could find nursery school children that could come up with more logical explanations.

AVOID TIGERDIRECT!!!!!

CommentI have bought a lenovo laptop two days ago at $899.99. but they cut $150 off from that price today.
I requested for the price match, but they told me that the store credit only.
To get my credit back, I have to return it, and re-oreder with my own shipping and handling expense.
IT IS VERY INCONVENIENT, and their price match policy is very bad.

CommentI placed the order with TigerDirect and shortly discovered that they shipped it to the wrong location. Upon discovering this I contacted UPS to get the issue resolved. They told me that I had to contact TigerDirect and get them to call in an intercept. In a 3 way phone call with TigerDirect and UPS, TigerDirect refused to pay for the intercept, and an agreement was made to get the package rerouted to me through non-intercept means.

This was going along just fine and the package was going to be rerouted to me where I would have received only one day later than originally intended, but then TigerDirect called in an intercept to have the package sent back to their warehouse instead of my location. Ultimately, TigerDirect wouldn't pay for an intercept when it would have resolved all issues immediately, but it would when it caused issues and expenses for everyone involved.

This order was not my first with TigerDirect, but it most certainly will have been my last.

CommentI have been purchasing from TigerDirect.com for several years now and have NEVER had a bad experience. My purchases have always arrived ahead of the projected delivery date, and in only one case did I have a problem with the merchandise, which was quickly rectified with one short, pleasant phone call. The one time I've had to deal with a customer service rep, they were very helpful, and did not treat me as if I were impinging on their valuable time with my problems.
I always recommend TigerDirect to all my friends who are looking to get any electronics because they usually have the best price, good quality merchandise, and very helpful reps. Keep up the great work!

SummaryThis web retailer advertises a "lowest price guarantee". The retailer failed to respond to a lower price inquiry. A subsequent e-mail to the retailer addressing their failure to respond stated that "inquiries are answered in the order recieved (sic), typically within 1-2 days". Seven days have elapsed and still no response. Therefore, the natural conclusion would be that the retailer does not intend to respond to the inquiry submitted and that the "lowest price guarantee" claim looks good on it's website but doesn't appear to function in practice.

CommentPurchased a Thinkpad T60 from Tiger Direct because they had this excellent deal not available anywhere else. It came with 1 year manufacturer warranty. I needed it shipped urgently so I ordered on the phone and the salesperson tried to sell me extra stuff. I didn't really need the antivirus but he was very persistent and it was free after rebate so I agreed. They shipped same day and order arrived 2 days later. When I checked the warranty status, it showed that warranty had already started 9 months earlier when item left Lenovo warehouse and there were only 3 months left. I called Tiger and they asked me to fax my receipt to Lenovo. Lenovo/IBM fulfillment refused saying Tiger is not an authorized reseller. I called Tiger back and they said they are an authorized reseller but didnt offer any help beyond that. I emailed one of Tiger's reps who was replying on these forums and she replied 4 days later offering to help out. By then (since I was in a hurry and leaving on vacation) I called IBM again and reached a different representative who asked me to fax paperwork and eventually fixed the issue. I am a repeat customer of Tiger and they have great deals at times, but in this case I was not at all happy with the customer service and had to spend a lot of time on the phone to get it resolved. To be fair, the whole problem was caused by Lenovo but I expected Tiger to be more proactive considering that this couldn't have been an isolated incident.

CommentPurchased new Nokia N76 unlocked cellphone. Eduardo took my order and was very pleasant to deal with. Eduardo was able to discount the phone a little bit because I had mentioned a lower price from another online merchant. I was pleased with that because every little bit helps. I received my order the very next day, WOW, that was quick. My new phone had a scratch on the face plate and Eduardo took care of this right away. I sent my damaged phone back and my new one is on the way. Thanks Eduardo.

CommentI would like to take this opportunity to submit my many thanks to Tom Nash at Tiger Direct. What a great guy! He was the most helpful person I talked to at Tiger Direct, after getting the run-around for a full day. I had a problem with the first computer I ordered and he got me set up with an upgraded replacement at a better price! I felt very comfortable talking with him and I would suggest anyone having problems with Tiger Direct or their computer, ask for Tom! I just can't thank him enough for being understanding, calm, and knowledgable about the products and the whole replacement deal. He saved me a whole a lot of headaches and I think he deserves a raise! Way to go Tom!!

CommentI bought a Mitsubishi projector home theatre hd1000 bundle on 11-4-07.
On the Tiger direct website it stated it included a hd1000 projector, mustang 106” screen , mustang FLAT CEILING MOUNT,hdmi and component cables this included a 2 Year warranty.

Tigers website clearly states Shipping $79.00 for 70 pounds of equipment , the shipping box is described as 49”x25”x13”.

I received a 14”x14”x10” box weighing about 10 pounds.
I received NO SCREEN
Inside the box was a coupon for a free screen to be sent away for with a 8 to 10 week expected delivery( no phone number no way to check on this).
I also received 30 inch LONG POLE CEILING MOUNT, not the flat one I was counting on(this places my projector to close to the floor and is useless).

The warranty card stating a ONE year warranty not TWO as stated on the tiger Website.

When I called Tiger direct the associate explained to me that I was lucky to receive any ceiling mount at all and that most customers usually have to mail away for the ceiling mount. He stated I could return the mount,but He would send my back the SAME ONE and I should be glad I got a mount at all.

Well IÂ’ve been staring at this box for over a month now without a screen to view it on. I just want what I paid for no more no less.

I just received the screen 1-21-2008 .

TIGER refuses to send the correct FLAT CEILING MOUNT.

If you have to call them you will undoubtedly get a young ,arrogant, argumentative SALESMAN .

I could not reach a bonafide Customer service Representative.

Every time I called I asked to speak to customer service I could not past the salesman telling me I can help you, NO SERVICE.

Customer service is non existent at Tiger direct.

BEWARE......BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK ............

CommentI got used to have good experiences with them, but that changed when I ordered a refurbished item. The website listing stated that (quote):

"A refurbished product is one that is returned by a customer, for whatever reason, and then restored to original working condition after undergoing an intensive inspection process by qualified technicians."

No where it mentioned that half of the original accessories (strap, manual, travel case) were missing, which was the case when I received the item. When I called them, the representative argued that since the item is working, it is in the original working condition, and the missing accessories do not matter, since the item is sold as is.

This is not how other companies define "refurbished": I bought refurbished items from other vendors and they had all accessories supplied.

I did receive a refund, but I lost the cost of shipping it both ways, which the company refused to pay. The more caring companies cover the cost of shipping if the problem is due to misleading information on their website.

CommentI like Tiger, but it distresses me that they do not discontinue selling products that get a significant number of negative reviews, from the their own customers, published on their website.

The answer is NOT ("Hello, Carl!") to eliminate the bad reviews - the answer is to stop selling crappy stuff that either or does not work, or frequently (!) - DAMAGES CUSTOMERS'EQIPMENT.

Example: An Ultra hard disk external case (Ultra is owned by Tiger) got 5 reviews. Three and 1/2 were negative, with those 4 reviews (of five) stating they wouldn't buy again - yet these cases are touted as premium product by Tiger and are of the most expensive in their inventory.

This kind of crap can only go on so long before people figure out that Tiger's management (and, by default (the low-level employees) is interested in their own personal well-being and fortune and not the long-term future of the company. I wonder what will happen if someone at Corporate gets interested in this sham?

Holey moley! Who's watching the store.

Also, I (and another customer friend) have both received packages from Tiger with *ZERO* padding material inside. In each case, we received hard drives (expensive) that were rattling around inside a shipping box for thousands of miles. When I called Tiger Customer Service, they pretty much blew me off.

So - Tiger slowly but surely sets itself up as the retailer of last resort.

Could anyone see that this WILL affect profits? Hello! Who's llistening!

Commenti have had very succesful transactions with tiger for many years until now. after ordering a in-stock memeroy and mouse combo i recieved the memory but not mouse. i contacted tigerdirect.com and they said that because they had not charged me for the mouse because it was a bonus in the bundle that they could nether refund me for the mouse or send me a substitue. i am very dissapointed by their lack of willingness to rectify this situation. all i can say is that i'm very said and will not order from tigerdirect.com again.

CommentI ordered two RCA refurbished 32 inch LCD televisions from TigerDirect, paid $150.82 shipping ($1150.80 total) and received them in a timely manner. Christmas morning one of my kids got a broken TV, it arrived DOA and didn’t work right out of the box. This can happen to anyone, but rather than send a return sticker like many places, TigerDirect makes the customer pay return shipping. I paid $80 to return the TV and was offered an odd shipping credit of $36.45, I of course feel I should get my $80 back and get another TV sent our free, or at least the return my initial $75.41 (their customer service needs grammar and math help). I plan to take this up with the BBB, they can’t be of much help but at least I’ll try. Did I mention all I did was buy a non-functional television set? Rude customer service (Lisa & Gioconda), non-working product, I will never consider buying from TigerDirect again. This was my first purchase.

CUSTOMER HAS TO PAY RETURN SHIPPING!

CommentI was shocked as I neared completion of my order for a computer on this date, Monday, Jan. 21, that the estimated shipping date given me was May 28th, OVER 4 MONTHS FROM NOW !

I SURE WOULD LIKE AN EXPLANATION OF OF THIS.

CommentTigerdirect is my first and usually my last stop when shopping for electronics. I have no problems finding what I need through their website and I always get my order on time.

Commentgood selection, easy to navigate, have used tiger direct in the past as well, so far so good.
