TVs: 3 things to consider before buying
When buying a TV, one of the first things to consider is the size. The size of your room and the distance from which you will be watching should guide your decision. For example, if you sit 8 to 10 feet away from your TV, a 55″ to 65″ model might be ideal. Larger rooms can accommodate TVs up to 75″ or more. Remember, a bigger screen doesn't always mean better viewing if you're sitting too close. Keep in mind that the TV should fit comfortably in your space without overwhelming it.
Display technology plays a significant role in picture quality. The two most common types are OLED and LED/LCD. OLED TVs often offer superior contrast and deeper blacks, making them ideal for movie enthusiasts who value picture depth and detail. On the other hand, LED/LCD TVs are generally more affordable and come in a wider range of sizes. Consider what matters most to you: vibrant colors and deep contrasts or budget-friendly options with decent quality.
Modern TVs come with various connectivity options that can enhance your viewing experience. Look for multiple HDMI ports if you plan to connect multiple devices like gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, or soundbars. Smart TVs often have built-in Wi-Fi, allowing you to stream content directly from services like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video without additional devices. Also, check for USB ports if you want to play media files directly from external drives. Ensuring your TV has the right connections can save you time and hassle later on.
