Benromach 10 Years Old Single Malt Organic Whisky 70cl

Benromach 10 Years Old Single Malt Organic Whisky 70cl

Benromach 10 Years Old Single Malt Organic Whisky 70cl. Pour yourself a dram of this beautiful Speysider, lift it to the light and notice the golden brown colour, imparted by virgin oak casks. Even the wood used for maturing the spirit is an intrinsic part of producing this beautifully balanced Organic Single Malt Whisky… a world-first when it was launched. With that in mind, enjoy the sumptuous AROMA WITHOUT WATER. It’s delightfully sweet and malty at first, and after a few inhalations you may detect vanilla, toffee and banana influences coming through. Enjoy the TASTE WITHOUT WATER… roll it around your mouth and savour the creamy pepper and sweet fruit flavours, particularly ripe bananas. Add a trickle of water to release the whisky and take in the AROMA WITH WATER… fresh and malty with darker, delicious hints of coffee and cocoa. You may smell some vanilla notes, and a touch of the fruit bowl coming through once again – this time with citrus fruits, especially lemons. Now for the TASTE WITH WATER… the smooth and mellow body has an exotic carnival feel with some gorgeous chilli spice and tropical fruit flavours, balanced with creaminess and a dark chocolate edge: a mouth-watering balance with a smooth and long finish. Benromach whisky is certified Organic from start to finish, meeting rigorous UK Soil Association standards for growing the ingredients, distillation, maturation and bottling. Unique on launch in 2006, it is still very rare today.

Mr Black - Cold Press Coffee Liqueur 70cl Bottle

Mr Black - Cold Press Coffee Liqueur 70cl Bottle

The dark side of coffee. Mr. Black is the original cold press coffee liqueur - a bitter, intense spirit and coffee creation not intended for the weak of mind or faint of heart. A unique drop that embodies Australia's progressive coffee culture and our unrelenting pursuit of steel ground, cold extracted, caffeinated perfection. Bitter, bold, and impeccably balanced, Mr. Black isn't everyone's cup of tea. In fact, if you're after a cup of tea, you're in the wrong place entirely. Mr. Black is dark blend of pure Australian grain spirit and three specialty coffees from three unique origins, chosen for their aroma, flavour and finish. It took 9 months and over 240 trials to create Mr. Black, a devilishly dark liquor with a bold coffee kick. This exceptional spirit is ground and cold-pressed by hand in tiny batches of 300 at our very small distillery on the Central Coast of New South Wales. Single origin arabica beans are sourced from Papua New Guinea, Ethiopia, and Brazil. Each bean is roasted to exact specifications to ensure correct caramelisation and flavour profile. Mr. Black is cold infused, cold pressed and unfiltered to ensure the flavours and aromas reflect the character and provenance of the coffee beans. Colour: Black. Aroma: Overwhelming fresh espresso. Body: Bitter yet balanced, Chocolate and caramel. Fine citrus edge. Finish: Toffee. Marmalade. Coffee 'til the end. Think of Mr Black as cocktail-ketchup for dark spirits and stirred cocktails. It makes a number of classic cocktails better; think a Negroni made with Mr Black; a Black Old Fashioned or blend Mr Black 50:50 with whisky, mezcal, tequila or rum for a small demonstration of what coffee can bring to mixed drinks.

Spirit Of Hven Hvenus Rye Whisky 500ml

Spirit Of Hven Hvenus Rye Whisky 500ml

Rye Whisky is such an underrated spirit, it has so much to offer everyone from Single Malt aficionados to gin drinkers, who will love its peppery spice. Hvenus, made by the Spirit of Hven, is one of the very best examples we've found. The experience is somewhat like visiting the Swedish island of Hven; you are met by cliffs of black pepper, toasted oak, sweet vanilla, nougat, runny honey, dark chocolate, ginger, mixed spices and orange zest, once over them the land and flavour profile open into fields of grain, freshly mown lawns, baled hay, mint and wildflowers. It's spectacularly complex stuff. Hven create their new make spirit from a mash bill comprising 78.6% rye, 11.9% wheat, 4.8% corn and 4.8% barley. The eagle-eyed among you will notice that's over 100%, but that's just Hven - always giving a little bit extra. They fill this into 42 casks, made from the finest American oak, and leave it to mature for up to six years. These casks are then carefully blended together to create Hvenus - named after Venus, a planet many associate with copper, the material used to create Hven's stills. It receives no charcoal filtration and no sugar or colour are added, resulting in a wonderfully pure and deeply flavoured Rye Whisky. The tiny Swedish island of Ven (local spelling 'Hven' with a silent H), can be found between Sweden and Denmark in the Øresund strait. Less than three square miles in size, it only has around 400 inhabitants, who busy themselves fishing, growing durum wheat and grapes, using the observatories built by Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe to look at the stars, and dealing with the influx of tourists in the summer. A few of them run the Spirit of Hven - one of the smallest commercial pot still distilleries in the world. Their diminutive stature gives them full control to the most minute of details, the small size of the still gives a larger relative surface area and maximises flavour, and it gives them plenty of opportunity to experiment. As a result there a...

Bruichladdich Octomore 10.1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Bruichladdich Octomore 10.1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The titanic peat of Bruichladdich's experimental Octomore whiskies have earned them a cult following, which has developed into rampant demand. 10.1 is the very first release in their new Octomore 10 series, making it extremely collectable and one not to be missed. For the 10th series, Bruichladdich have claimed to be exploring the "softer smoke". While that might be true relatively, this is still a beast peated to 107ppm. Distilled in 2013 using Scottish-grown Concerto barley, Octomore 10.1 has been aged for five years in first-fill Bourbon casks sourced from a who's who of American whiskey (think Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniels). Bottled at a warming full strength of 59.8%, only 42,000 bottles were created. What's inside is as dark and lithe as the bottle. Expect smoked salt, burnt orange peel, flambéed pineapple, tropical fruit drizzled with honey, toffee apple, coal tar soap, leather, marzipan, gooseberry jam, barley sugar, sea spray, the burnt rubber of squealing tyres, salted caramel, and what we imagine the aftermath of a forest fire must be like after being drenched with water. Although not for the faint hearted, Octomore is a magnificently muscular spirit that pays tribute to the raw materials, geography and climate of the island of Islay like no other.£21.43 per 100.00ml

Macallan 18 Year Old Triple Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Macallan 18 Year Old Triple Cask Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Launched in 2018, Macallan's 18-Year-Old Triple Cask Matured replaces the much-loved Fine Oak. Always one of Speyside's most sought-after single malts, this Macallan has been aged for almost two decades in a combination of Sherry casks, Bourbon casks and American oak casks that have been seasoned with Sherry. This unique technique, particularly the latter hybrid barrelling, demonstrates the distillery's immense attention to detail. In the glass, you'll find a silky smooth and exotically spiced single malt redolent of tropical fruits baked with Demerara sugar, dark chocolate-covered orange peel and crystallised ginger, damson jam, roasted chestnuts and almonds, summer pudding, toffee, jasmine, cinnamon, nutmeg and wisps of wood smoke. "Macallan is the daddy, as far as legendary whiskies go." So says whisky expert Ian Buxton. This Speyside behemoth enjoys huge global demand, perfectly illustrated by a 30-year-old cask breaking auction records when it sold for $375,000 (US) in Hong Kong. Deservedly so, it remains the aficionado's choice when it comes to Scotch.£39.29 per 100.00ml

BenRiach 25 Year Old 1993 Rioja Cask #7881 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

BenRiach 25 Year Old 1993 Rioja Cask #7881 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Only very special barrels are chosen by Dr. Rachel Barrie to enter BenRiach's highly sought-after single cask releases. Her selections for Batch 16 are truly exceptional… Cask #7881 - a red wine hogshead from Rioja - was filled with liquid distilled in 1993. There it remained until bottling in 2019. Yielding just 231 super-rare bottles, these are sure to be snapped up by collectors. A Rioja cask is a real rarity in the world of whisky, even more so when the whisky has spent a quarter of a century maturing in it. The red wine influence layers the richness of plum crumble, cherry pavlova, blackberry jam, wild strawberry, Genoa cake, vanilla and cinnamon over a sophisticated base of nutty praline, distant smoke, dark chocolate, warming pepper and leathery tobacco. This muscly malt is unlike anything else you will taste this year. Although BenRiach has a long and illustrious history that can be traced back to 1898, it has been the period since 2004 - when it became independent after being purchased by The BenRiach Distillery Company Limited - that has seen a procession of truly excellent peated and unpeated malt whiskies leave its front doors. That run of award-winning quality has continued under the watchful eye of new owners Brown-Forman and their talented Master Blender Rachel Barrie, who cut her teeth at the Scotch Whisky Research Institute, and two industry heavyweights: Glenmorangie and Bowmore. In short, new releases from this hidden gem of a distillery are not to be missed.£42.79 per 100.00ml

BenRiach Dunder (Dark Rum Finish) 22 Year Old | 46% 700ml

BenRiach Dunder (Dark Rum Finish) 22 Year Old | 46% 700ml

Another unusually intriguing release from Benriach finished in Dark Rum barrels. One thing I enjoy about the Benriach brand is the varying flavours within the range and the differing casks used to finish these whiskies. The Benriach 'Dunder' is distilled from peated malted barley, matured in American oak casks and then finished in Dark Rum barrels. This whisky has been named after the residue of cane-juice left in the still after distillation of rum, 'dunder' which traditionally is used as a yeast source in the fermentation process of Jamaican rum where it gives the rum its unique aroma and flavour. This product qualifies for Free UK shipping === Tasting Notes Nose - Delicate peat smoke, floods over cinnamon apple sponge, crisp white pepper adds a gentle warmth. Palate - Roasted apples and pears dusted with demerara sugar and lemon peel, all infused with a crisp barley sweetness. Finish - Lingering wood smoke character.

Glendronach 15 Year Old |700ml 46%

After ceasing production in 2015, The GlenDronach Revival Aged 15 years now returns to the core range of the distillery’s line-up. Henriques & Henriques 50 Year Old Tinta Negra Limited Edition Madeira 500ml

Henriques & Henriques 50 Year Old Tinta Negra Limited Edition Madeira 500ml

For 50th birthdays or golden wedding anniversaries, look no further than Henriques & Henriques' phenomenal 50 Year Old Tinta Negra Madeira. This limited edition offers incredible value for money, especially when you consider how much a whisky of the same age would set you back or how undrinkable most wines would be after half a century. Despite being Madeira's most commonly planted grape, seeing Tinta Negra Mole on a label is incredibly rare. But this chameleon varietal is undergoing a renaissance, helped in no small part by older bottlings like this. Sweet and rich with black fruit, treacle, dark chocolate, mocha, crème brûlée, dried herbs, Cuban cigars, vanilla pods, Hongqing green tea and gently curry-spiced fruit chutney, but it maintains its freshness and youthfulness with a lick of moreish citrusy acidity. Calling this intense and complex just doesn't do it justice, it has to be tasted to be believed. Serve alongside caramelised desserts, chocolate, Christmas fare, pté or a cheeseboard. Founded in 1850 by João Gonçalves Henriques, his two sons took over in 1912 and this world famous Madeira house became Henriques & Henriques as we know it today. Madeira has enjoyed a strong bond with the United Kingdom since King Charles II married Princess Catherine of Portugal, but Henriques & Henriques' is particularly enviable. You'll find them near the picturesque fishing village of Cmara de Lobos, famously painted by Winston Churchill. They've also seen their wine served at a Buckingham Palace for a banquet attended by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, not to mention William and Kate, Charles and Camilla, Prince Harry and the Prime Minister. They're the only Madeira house to own vineyards, one of the few whose wines are vegan-friendly and in 2017 were named "Best Fortified Wine Producer of the Year" by Revista de Vinhos Magazine - a considerable feat considering they were up against not only Madeira's famous wineries Blandy's and Barbeito, but also all the great pr...
