The Lord of the Rings LCG Angmar Awakened Cycle 1/6 - The Wastes of Er

The Lord of the Rings LCG Angmar Awakened Cycle 1/6 - The Wastes of Er

"What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night, if the Dunedain were asleep, or were all gone into the grave?" - Aragorn, The Fellowship of the Ring The Wastes of Eriador is the first Adventure Pack in the Angmar Awakened cycle for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. In The Wastes of Eriador, several of Middle-earth's heroes must join forces with the noble Dunedain who have long guarded the North's simpler folk from the untold evils that have for centuries resided within Carn Dum and its environs. Following immediately upon the heels of the epic events that unfold in The Lost Realm deluxe expansion, the scenario from The Wastes of Eriador tasks you to rescue a captive Ranger. However, as you pursue the enemies who have captured him, your trail leads you ever northward, ever deeper into the hills of Angmar. There, as day fades into night, the howling of wolves suggest that your party of hunters may soon become the hunted? In addition to its new scenario, The Wastes of Eriador also contains a new hero and three copies each of nine different player cards. In the lands traveled so often by the Rangers of the North, you'll find new Dunedain, Hobbits, Scouts, and side quests. You'll also find new ways to protect your heroes from damage, as well as the new Valour trigger, which continues to gain strength throughout the Angmar Awakened cycle. This is not a stand-alone deck. A copy of The Lord of the Rings: The Core Set and The Lord of the Rings: The Lost Realm are required to play.

Margravees of Valeria

Margravees of Valeria

2-5 players. ages 14+, 60-120+ minutesby Daily Magic GamesMargraves of Valeria is a hand-building worker-placement game set in the fantasy world of Valeria. It's the fifth stand-alone game in the series and brings the familiar feel of the previous games (with icons, characters, and easy turns) while building on familiar mechanics you'd expect (off-turn bonuses, multi-use cards, and resource-management).You are a Margrave, a military commander tasked with defending the land of Valeria and building magical Ward Towers at cities. Knights in Valeria can be commanded by you or your fellow Margraves to slay monsters or activate locations in an effort to gain influence over the 4 Guilds: Worker, Soldier, Shadow, and Holy. As you gain influence, you'll cross thresholds that will earn you privilege tiles which give you bonuses. At the end of the game, you'll earn victory points based on how much influence you have over a Guild and how many icons you've gained of that Guild. The Margrave with the most victory points at the end of the game will be named a Duke or Duchess and given their own province to protect and grow!Turns are deceptively simple as you only get to play 1 Citizen card from your hand. Each card can be played for action icons in the pennant (top-left), power text (at the bottom), or played face-down to perform one of the two actions on your player board (Recall your cards or Build a Ward Tower).Key features include:Hand Building - Much like deck-building, you are drafting cards into your hand increasing your powers, victory points, and options.Multi-use Cards - Each card can be used in one of four ways, leaving you a lot of decision-making room to execute your strategy.Worker-Placement - Each time you move your Margrave or a Knight into a location, you activate the power of that location much like a worker placement game.Shared Workers - The Knights on the game board do not belong to a single player (anyone can use them) so be careful not to setup your oppone...

In the Year of the Dragon (10th Anniversary Edition)

In the Year of the Dragon (10th Anniversary Edition)

In the Year of the Dragon: 10th Anniversary consists of the In the Year of the Dragon: 10th Anniversary base game and the The Great Wall of China & The Super Events expansions that first appeared in the alea Treasure Chest. In In the Year of the Dragon, players take on the role of Chinese rulers around the year 1000. The game plays out in twelve rounds, with each round representing one month in a year that seems to go from bad to worse. Disease, drought, and attacks from the Mongols may claim lives, but make sure you have enough money to offer a tribute to the Emperor. The game play is easier than it may appear. Every player has a set of "person" cards. Each round, you choose one action (most of which call on your workers' abilities) to help you prepare for the months ahead. Then you play one person card, recruiting that person and placing them into one of your palaces. Each person brings different skills and abilities to help you ride out the year. (Farmers help you gain rice to survive a drought month, tax collectors raise money, etc.) At the end of each round, that month's event is triggered, which may cost you some of your workers, some money, or give you points.Careful planning is the key to surviving "the year of the dragon", but survival alone may not win you the game. When you add The Great Wall of China expansion to the game, every player takes the six Great Wall tiles in their color. When a player choose the new action "build Great Wall", they choose one of their remaining Great Wall tiles, receive from the supply the symbol shown on the tile, then place this tile under the first event tile. The tiles give 1 rice, 1 rocket, 2 yuan, 1 palace level, 3 VP, and 3 spaces on the order track. For The Super Events, shuffle the ten super event tiles face down, then randomly draw one of them and place it face up on the seventh event tile. It will be resolved after this event.Players: 2 - 5Playtime: 75 - 90 + minutesAges: 12+ Published by: Ravensburger
