Halloween is fast approaching, and although trick or treating might be out fo the question there are still plenty of ways to create a fun and memorable day at home. Here are som fun tips as to how you can have a great Quarantine Halloween! 🎃

1. [Decorate]

Although this one might seem obvious, we're not just talking about a few pumpkins and some spider webs in the corner (natural occurrences don't count!) This is the perfect opportunity to go all out, turn your home into a haunted mansion or the ultimate halloween themed house. Everything from props, lights, webs to fog machines will help create an unforgettable halloween for you and the family.

2. [Costumes]

Getting dressed up and having your face painted has generally been reserved for kids or uni students but when you're celebrating an at home Halloween party you can factor away any potential embarrassment, in other words this is the perfect time for the entire family to go all out and have most epic halloween costume party or maybe even a spooky runway show. Get creative and have fun, going that extra mile will make the day that more special.

3. [Activities]

Organise plenty of games and activities! Just because you can't have a party doesn't mean you should miss out on the halloween party fun! Games like bobbing for apples, or guess the pumpkin (Fill three pumpkins with candy, toys and pumpkin guts. Let the contestants take their pick, then they must grab a handful of whatever is in the pumpkin of their choice) or what about a Halloween themed twister? Easily organised games that are plenty of fun. And of course activities like pumpkin carving or halloween themed baking and decorating will keep everyone happy and entertained for hours!

4. [Trick or Treat]

Let's be honest trick or treat is undoubtedly the highlight of Halloween and who are we to forego everyone's favourite Halloween activity? Since the whole walking around and taking sweets from people might not be ideal given the current restrictions and circumstances, why not instead put a twist on the traditional trick or treating and turn it into a scavenger hunt. Give your kids a halloween bucket and let them run around the house searching for their sweets. All it requires is some prep work and cleverly hidden sweets (we'd go with wrapped ones).

5. [Creative Cooking]

The easiest and most fun way to create an amazing party is to have some fun dishes that maybe aren't what they seem. Here are some easy recipes to put on the Halloween table.

• Get some rubber gloves and pour water into them and add some red food colouring tie the end of the gloves and pop them in the freezer then throw them into a big bowl of squash or fizzy drink and you have scary but refreshing drink!

*  Make some chocolate mousse and put it into dog poo bags for a truly squeamish desert that will confuse the senses.

* Wrap some Cadburry fingers in marzipan and shape them into fingers then cut off the end exposing the Cadburry finger, add a flaked almond as the nails and some blood on the end to create a dessert unlike any other. 

Let your imagination run wild! This is the time to have fun. If you can get a hold on some dry ice it will create a truly spooky feeling to your Halloween buffet.

6. [Watch Movies]

What is better after a long day of games and activities than a movie marathon, battle the impending sugar rush with some appropriately scary family movies like Caspar, Ghostbusters or Nightmare Before Christmas (adapt according to age.) Cuddle up together with some snacks and enjoy a few relaxing hours of amazing Halloween entertainment.
