15 Most Anticipated Video Games of 2023

2022 offered many fantastic game releases - but there are just as many to look forward to in 2023. We have gathered the most anticipated gaming of this year, which includes, among other, postponed games such as Forspoken, Zelda and Hogwarts Legacy, while there are also blockbusters such as Dead Space Remake and Final Fantasy to look forward to.

New games 2023

2023 will be a generous year offering plenty of game releases and long anticipated delayed releases. We have selected the 15 most exciting releases of 2023, some which can be preordered already today.

Forspoken

In Forspoken - which was originally supposed to be released on October 11th 2022 - we follow Frey from New York, who has ended up in the beautiful, but also cruel country of Athia. To top it all off, she discovers her new magical abilities and uses these to get around fantastical landscapes and fight monster-like creatures.

Forspoken will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC on January 24th 2023.

Dead Space (Remake)

If The Callisto Protocol wasn't enough, then the new remake of the sci-fi horror classic Dead Space probably will be. With an improved gameplay, you will get to experience some real space thrills as Isaac Clarke, who discovers that something is very wrong on the mining spaceship "The Ishimura" when the terrifying Necromorphs, among other things, appear.

Dead Space (Remake) will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on January 27th 2023.

Dead Island 2

Out of the blue we get a sequel that has been in development for almost an entire decade. Here you must fight against zombies together with a small group of survivors, all to win back Los Angeles. Expect bloody and wild battles where you will have the opportunity to use weapons ranging from glass bottles to shotguns.

Dead Island 2 will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC on February 3rd 2023.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the end of the 19th century. In addition to discovering Hogwarts as a student, you also hold the key to an ancient secret that threatens to destroy the Wizarding world. It is up to you to decide the fate of the world, which you must manage by forming alliances, mastering spells and fighting against dark wizards. This open world game allows you to freely explore Hogwarts in a way you never have before.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released for Playstation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC on February 10th 2023.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

This remake of the original 2005 game combines the essence of the original with a new and modernised gameplay, reimagined storyline and highly detailed graphics - all to make the creepiness, horror and the thrill feel more real than ever! As Leon S. Kennedy, you, as a hired agent, must find the kidnapped daughter of the US President 6 years after a biological accident in Racoon City. You end up in a European village where the villagers aren't exactly what they seem...

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PC on March 24th 2023.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Zelda returns in the sequel to Breath of the Wild from 2017, together with Link, an unknown land must be explored. As we see in the trailer we will experience floating cities, paragliding and the world of Hyrule. In addition, it will be possible to travel and explore up in the clouds, while enemies such as Stone Talus must be fought.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released for Nintendo Switch on May 12th 2023.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chernobyl

Developed by GSC Game World; this award-winning PC game franchise gives you an experience of action in this post-apocalyptic Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, where you help decide the zone's fate. With survival, sci-fi and horror as the 3 keywords, you are guaranteed to be entertained right on the edge of the sofa, just as the game's Unreal Engine 5 and other graphics technologies help to unleash the game's full potential.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC during 2023.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

In this action-packed game, you play the famous characters Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerand and King Shark. Your mission? Defeating The Justice League - in other words, the world's greatest superheroes.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC during 2023.

Starfield

Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios. The upcoming release takes place up among the stars - more specifically 50 light years away, in The Settled Systems. As a player, you are a member of Constellation, a group of astronauts. Here you get the opportunity to travel through the stars and explore with great freedom in search of humanity's greatest mystery.

Starfield will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC during 2023.

Final Fantasy XVI

The 16th game in the long game series is expected to be out in mid-2023 and is set in Europe in the Middle Ages. Here you play as the Archduke of Rosaria, who must go on a wild and magical quest for the mark god Ifrit is wreaking havoc in his homeland. Expect lots of battles and monster-on-monster combat.

Final Fantasy XVI will be released for PlayStation 5 during 2023.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

This action-adventure game is based on the famous film series by James Cameron. In this open-world game, you move around an unexplored part of the beautiful, but also dangerous, world of Pandora as the character Na'vi.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia and PC during 2023.

Diablo IV

Blizzard Entertainment finally revealed back in June 2022 that Diablo IV will officially come out next year. Here, new features such as open world and player vs player (PVP) interactions will be included, while of course it is also based on the classic gameplay, where you guide your character through various quests and combats. In addition, five character classes are included; The Babarian, The Sorceress, The Druid, The Rogue and The Necromancer. The game will include monetization, which covers in-game purchases and season passes, as well as season-based updates within Quests, items, live events, new features and other game updates.

Diablo IV will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC during 2023.

Alan Wake 2

In this sequel to the first edition from 2010, Alan Wake is the protagonist of this survival and horror game, which takes place in New York, a crime scene in a forest and Bright Falls, a small mining town known from the game universe. With a completely new graphics technology from Remedy - which, among other things, is behind the well-known Max Payne - it makes for an ultra-realistic universe that offers gloomy and creepy moments, described as "a monster" by the game developers.

Alan Wake 2 will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC during 2023.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Starring Jedi Cal Kestis, we follow the story of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from 2019. We will get to see Kestis save the galaxy after Order 66 ordered all the Jedi killed. In addition, there will be new mysterious characters in the game and a lot of intrigue and drama. With the success of Fallen Order, we have high expectations for EA's upcoming Star Wars game.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC during 2023.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

As part of the "Final Fantasy VII Remake" game project, we get to see the second out of three games. At the game series' 25th anniversary, we were able to unveil the continuation of the first game, Final Fantasy VII Remake, where we continue the story of Cloud Aerith, Barret and Pals. The game aims for an epic conclusion, which we will then experience in the third and final game (currently unnamed) sometime in the future.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released for PlayStation 5 during 2023.
