3 tips when shopping for a bikini

Here are some suggestions:

  • Nylon is great for stretching and quick drying. But it's not so durable, so it's best for sunbathing or swimming in a lake. Avoid wearing it in chlorine pools.

  • Lycra/spandex is stretchy and tight-fitting. Like nylon, it’s sensitive to chlorine, so it's better suited for sunbathing or swimming in the sea.

  • Polyester is not as stretchy as the other two materials. It's durable and can handle chlorine, making it perfect for the pool, lake and sea.

When shopping for a bikini, it's important to get the right size for a comfortable fit. Measure yourself around the widest part of the bust and refer to the size chart.

The top should fit snugly without digging into your skin or causing a bra bulge. Go for the smaller size if you're between two sizes, as bikinis tend to stretch about half a size.

A triangle bikini is adjustable with straps that tie around the back and neck. But it can be uncomfortable for those with a larger bust. as the straps can cut into the skin. If you need more support, a halterneck bikini with wider straps is a great option.

To get the perfect bikini bottom size, measure the widest area around your hips. Cosider bottoms that can be adjusted, like those with folded waists or side straps.

And if you're still having trouble, check out this fun bikini calculator for inspo.
