This two oscillator bass synthesiser has plenty of on-board connections for supporting standard MIDI, USB MIDI and even an audio input for use as an external filter. The Moog Minitaur has been designed to be as easy to use as possible, with many features using just one knob to dial in your setting. There's no venturing through countless menus and no heinous set up but the incredible sound quality Moog are known for is ever-present. Oscillators Each of the two oscillators is independently switchable between a sawtooth or square wave setting, with the second oscillator having the ability to be tuned as far as 1 octave up or down in pitch. Using this feature can create some deep and rich tones that will support any arrangement in a solid manner that adds a doubtless touch of professionalism to your tracks. Filter The filter of the Moog Minitaur stretches across the full 20Hz - 20KHz range and includes controls for resonance and envelope gain. The 4 pole Lowpass VCF which Moog use is excellent at not only shaping the sounds within the unit itself but also accepting and moulding external sound sources. Envelopes Two envelope sections for the filter and amplifier give you a great amount of control over the output of the unit. Attack, decay and sustain are all fully controllable and can create some extremely musical and certainly usable sounds. The Release button fitted to the unit changes the functions of the decay dial inside the envelope section and lets you control the release time, making for even more sound shaping opportunities.
