Three tips when buying a scooter

  • Kickbikes are fun for both adults and children for fitness and performing tricks, and they can now be seen at most skate parks. You can also use it for travelling short distances.

  • Kick scooter. There are kick scooters in a hybrid design with a handlebar that more closely resembles a BMX handlebar and a wider standing area. A good transport scooter with the added bonus of a handbrake.

  • Adult scooter. A larger and more robust model that works well as an alternative to a normal bike. These scooters have larger wheels and are often available in clever folding designs, perfect for taking on public transport.

Not overloading the components with too much weight ensures the scooter enjoys a longer lifespan and makes it feel safer during use. Choose a well-built model that’s sturdy without feeling too heavy, and you won’t need to replace it after just one season. Use the filter functions to search by both maximum weight and age to find the right models.

  • Really small wheels roll best on concrete or tarmac,
  • Larger wheels can easily scoot over gravel or turf without any problems. Larger wheels also provide more speed in relation to the effort of the kicker, so if the scooter will be used as a means of transport, larger wheels will definitely be an advantage.
  • Wheels with aluminium rims are preferable to plastic rims, which are less durable.

Here are some "easy" tricks to start with if you're planning to become a kick scooter pro.
