Vegan Hand Creams

Just as with the skin on the rest of the body, different hands' needs are different. This doesn't just vary from person to person, but also from season to season. When the wind blows, the temperature drops, and the rain whips, one's hands tend to get chapped and sore. And when the cold is replaced by sun and swimming, they may get a little too much sun.

• During the winter, it’s good to use as thick a cream as possible, as the fat will act as a barrier and lock in moisture that otherwise would evaporate from the skin in the cold.
• In the summer, it's a good idea to use a lighter lotion that also contains sunscreen.

What you do during the day should affect your choice of hand cream. If you spend most of your time sitting and writing on a computer, or perhaps handling paper, a hand cream that absorbs quickly is the best choice. Then you can avoid getting fingerprints on your keyboard and papers. If, on the other hand, you work in an environment that requires a lot of hand washing, a richer cream is a good choice, as it will effectively moisturise your hands between washes.
