Keep in mind that fleece is made from plastic sourced from non-renewable oil – so choose fleece made from recycled material. Unfortunately, polyester fleece also releases large quantities of microplastics with every wash, especially when new. To help reduce this, use a wash bag that catches microplastics when you wash your fleece. Also, remember to be cautious with polyester fleece around open flames, as it can catch fire easily.
