Subwoofer External Speakers with Surround Amplifier

Surround sound means that you get sound from several different directions, and you’re surrounded by sound, just like in the cinema. Four or more speakers are placed in a 360-degree radius around the room. The subwoofer, which boosts the lower frequencies and bass, also adds more weight to the sound and helps to create a cool and realistic feeling during, for example, explosions in movies.

A surround amplifier, also called a home theatre receiver, is built to handle multiple speakers. It also supports several different audio formats than standard stereo amplifiers, including Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Atmos.

There are both pros and cons to a wireless system. The advantage of a wireless system is that you don’t have to connect the speakers and amplifier with wires, except for the plug socket. It will then be easier to install and move the speakers around.

The downside is that the sound can seem a bit thinner, as speakers that are connected with wires generally have better sound quality. Depending on the wireless connectivity, you may also experience sound delays.

It all depends on what budget you have. There are cheaper systems that maintain a relatively good level and that take your movie-watching experience to a new level if you have previously only used the TV's built-in speakers. However, the more expensive packages are of higher quality and create a larger and heavier sound experience, more similar to the one you can experience at the cinema. In short, the more speakers and more powerful amplifiers, the better sound you get.
