Unlike a mechanical watch that needs to be wound up now and again, this will keep running until the battery runs out. Battery-powered watches also run very accurately and consistently, so you won't need to adjust it that much.
This model has a 5 ATM (50m) water protection. This, however, is not the same as meters of depth it can handle. But you can swim with it just fine.
